House Republicans are still there, raising cain- trying to get them to turn the lights back on and continue debating over drilling!!!

I just called and said "There's a Republican revolt going on int the House Chamber and I wasn't seeing much coverage of it." I got a run around on it. Was told several times "There are no cameras on now. Cameras are not allowed." I objected, politely, that the story could still be covered.
He seemed mildly irritated that I would question that and asked if I wanted to talk to (name garbled) and I said yes. Got a phone tree that led to leaving a recorded message. I did...
"There's a Republican revolt going on in the House Chamber. I understand that the cameras are turned off. You can still cover the story. Thank you."

I just called the Clerk of the House, she told me that since the house is officially adjourned, they cannot broadcast via cspan. She said there is no debate on the floor, only a meeting. I said as long as their are people talking on the floor, it should be open to the people. She was very nice about it, but she could sense I was mad. I thanked her for her time.

Personally, I think the rats has just lost the election..
