Neil is back after having brain surgery!
Looks like our prayers have paid off!!!
(Excerpt) Read more at foxnews.com ...
Neil has had cancer in the past and has had MS for some time.
Yes, God Bless Neil!
So glad Neil is back! I would check every Monday to see if he was on.
Missed you, Neil!
I didn’t know his condition. I agree with your prayer.
[(whispers) and less of Dagan McDowell. Yikes, I am weary of her tax the bejeepers out of the oil companies not understanding that she can’t find enough money to dig the poor out of the humungous crater she wants to dig].
Hmmm...did he say what kind of surgery? I have MS and I didn’t know there was any surgery options for MS.
That’s what I just asked in a previous post, I have MS and didn’t know there were surgical options.
Found this on webmd
People with multiple sclerosis (MS) who have severe tremor (shakiness) affecting movement may be helped by surgery. People with severe spasticity (muscle stiffness) may be helped by insertion of a spinal pump to deliver medications when oral medications fail.
Surgery options include:
Deep brain stimulation for tremor. Severe and disabling tremor that occurs with the slightest movement of the limbs may be helped by an implanted device that stimulates an area of the brain. A neurological surgeon performs the surgery to implant the device.
Implantation of a drug catheter or pump, for spasticity. People who have severe pain or spasticity may benefit from having a catheter or pump placed in the lower spinal area to deliver a constant flow of medication, such as baclofen (Lioresal).
Prayers for your wife, tumblindice.
*I am weary of her tax the bejeepers out of the oil companies not understanding*
This is cutting of the hand that keeps it all going.
What an enormous relief!
Thank God for prayers answered. Keep it up everybody!
I am SO relieved to see and hear him back! I emailed FOX a couple of times and just last week learned of his surgery.
We MISSED YOU NEIL! WELCOME BACK!
The spasticity pump is used for baclofen, but that wouldn’t sideline him for this long, it’s a relatively minor surgery, unless you have complications.
I know about DBS, but I didn’t think Neil had a tremor, at least I never noticed one, and DBS only helps tremor, no other symptoms.
Some people are having autologous stem cell treatments, that could have put him out of commission for a couple months, but I wouldn’t call that surgery.
Glad he’s back; prayers continuing.
I am having a blonde moment, SoCalPol, sorry.
Do you mean that she is cutting the hand of the oil companies or the taxpayers, consumers, etc.?
Glad he’s back. I was having withdrawal symptoms. I instinctively knew something was wrong and told my sister I thought it might have to do with either his bout with cancer or something to do with his MS. Actually glad it was the MS and not cancer.
I love Neil Cavuto, his humor, his quickness of thought, his provocative questions, his finesse in dealing with difficult interviews. He’s good at his job, very good. Was so relieved to see his face on the screen now. Pop, pop, fizz, fizz, oh what a relief it is (remember that?).
It could have been the implantation of a drug dispensing device. My sister had that surgery due to her MS.
Thanks! She had the morphine pump implant surgery and has been pretty much pain-free since having that done. A little pain in the feet every so often.
Bless his heart. I am praying for him.
Awwww...he’s reading all the welcome back emails:)
Soooo touching, and funny!
Hi, Neil is talking about his surgery right now.
Update: Neil just was discussing his surgery. It was throat surgery, a complication from his MS. He couldn’t talk for the last 4 weeks after the surgery. That’s why he sounds raspy today. But he’s back, and is ok, and that’s all that counts. He can now happily go back to eating yodles and ho ho’s. Love seeing his head filling the entire TV screen once again (snicker).
Thanks for that update, flaglady47!
Thanks:) Sure missed hearing his voice and seeing that “big head” :)
I tuned in late and was DELIGHTED to see Cavuto on the screen!!!
I too, thought he was on vacation, but after a couple of weeks I was worried. I even tried to google some information, but found nothing except the symptoms of his illness (MS)
Let’s pray that the surgery is an answer, and that he is back with all his admirers and followers.
A classy guy. I am always amazed at what a stand-up person he is when a caller will give him heck on something and accuse him of not knowing someones pain from an illness. He just gives a little smile and goes on.
Welcome back Neil! We love you!
WELCOME BACK NEIL!!!! :)
Welcome back, Neil, and continued prayers for a full recovery.
Welcome back Neil. We in the “G” household missed you.
Thanks, I’m cubicle bound, but I’m sure I’ll get a report about it.
MS frequently causes problems with the bladder and incontinence or blockage may occur. The surgery is not aimed at the MS but at organ systems that may affect.
I went to one of the MS discussion boards and there was a thread about his surgery. I knew MS can affect the vocal cords (resulting in a breathy voice)...I didn’t know they could surgically repair the problem.
Here’s a link to an article about the problem, causes, and surgery.
I missed him. Thankfully Mr. Common Man with Common Sense and Decency is Back!
Very well said. Have a nice day.
He sounded like he had a cold today. I didn’t know he had had surgery. I was listening rather than watching. I am so glad he is doing well and is back. He was certainly at the top of his game.
My neice has MS and had surgery on her esophagus recently. She was having trouble swallowing. That was a success. She also had a baby boy this year. It was quite the happy surprise for all of us. She and her husband are just radiant.
God bless you, Neil... may you be blessed with MANY more happy and healthy years! :o)
Neil is wonderful, but in today’s show (Aug 13) he called Powell a Republican’s Republican.
I love Neil, but Powell let Scooter Libby twist in the wind while Dick Armitage is the person who leaked the CIA connection.
Powell is a very left of center Republican who is angry with the Bush Administration, when by rights, it should be the Administration who is angry with Powell.
