House GOP Revolt Rages On

Pelosi Bans C-SPAN Coverage

Republican lawmakers returned the U.S. Capitol Monday to resume their demands for a vote on offshore oil drilling. On Friday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi ordered the lights and microphones in the House chamber shut off while GOP members spoke about energy independence. The Democratic leader also closed the press galleries and forced C-SPAN to discontinue broadcasting.

Two dozen GOP stalwarts pledged to continue their protest of Pelosi’s adjournment of the House for five weeks without allowing an up-or-down vote on opening the Outer Continental Shelf to oil exploration. They are calling on the Speaker to call the House back into session to solve America’s energy crisis.

The Old Media is doing its part to ignore the extraordinary events taking place in the U.S. Capitol. Only a handful of reporters showed up for a press conference on Monday with the insurgent Republicans. The questions offered by the Congressional press corps demonstrated their pro-Democratic bias. One reporter implied that President Bush should be calling Congress into emergency session. Another got a chuckle out of the Representatives in questioning the amount of energy they used to come back to Washington.

Rep Tom Price (R-GA) and Rep. Mike Pence (R-IN) deftly handled the reporters’ attempts to divert attention away from the issue of Pelosi’s refusal to allow a vote and her Stalinist tactics to keep their voices from being heard. Pence said, “ A majority of Americans want Congress to return.”

Rep. Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO) chastised Pelosi saying, “She made history by becoming the first female Speaker of the House, she can make history again by calling us back and letting us vote.”

Rep. Jeb Hensarling (R-TX) accused the Speaker of risking a “shutdown” of America’s economic engine.

Perhaps the best quote of the day came from a question posed by yours truly. I asked Rep. Price to comment on Pelosi’s remarks during her incoherent interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos that suggested Republicans should “use their imagination” to get a vote.

Price said, “We imagine a Speaker of the House who will live up to her responsibility and her oath.”

In a later follow up, Price told me that despite Pelosi’s efforts to keep their floor protest out of the public view, Republicans planned to work with home-state news outlets as well as the New Media to garner grassroots support.

That's tougher than the Skank ever was to our enemies.

Don't know, but along with McCain challenging Hussein to come to Washington to help solve the energy problem, I am enjoying the H*ll out of this now.

Where are the wireless cams feeding the festivities into (for example) GOP-TV?

Shrieker Pelosi is going to rue the day she wore that frown on her botox’d face.

And the ‘Rats are going to regret Shrieker Pelosi come Election Day when the American people wake up and realize that ‘Rats in government are no different than rats in your house, they contribute nothing to your well being, they sneak around in the middle of the night because they’re afraid of being caught in broad daylight, they steal anything they can sink their yellow little fangs into, and if cornered, they hiss at you and make empty threats, hoping you’ll fall for their bluff.

America needs rodent extermination, and I think we’re going to get it, I really do.

The only cameras allowed on the floor are those for CSpan and they were shut off by order of Nancy the 9 percenter. So wireless cams are out, but here is something to think about. The recorders are on, and all of this is going into the congressional record, whether San Fran Nan wants it or not.

All you can do is bash the GOP which is the only thing that can stop Obama, the Democrats/Marxists and the rest of the Marxists including McCain the Marxist.

FYI the Republicans only had a 51-50% bare majority. And everyone should know that you need a 60% super majority to get practically any bill passed or practically anything done in the Senate.

You whiney “conservatives” who have been bashing the GOP are the “useful idiots” that the Marxists/Democrats speak of who are helping the Marxists/Democrats obtain that 60% majority and then they can let in 100’s of millions of 3rd world people and turn the U.S. into a socialist state.

The Republicans have done great and are doing so now voting at close to 90% the right way for limiting government , for lower taxes , for a stronger military , for no Amnesty, for liberty. But you whiners who are brainwashed by the liberal media couldn’t get everything you wanted so you cry like babies.

Unfortunately, mine (Ralph Hall, R-TX) is not.

I just emailed asking why he isn’t in attendance and thanking him for his past votes.

Well, he did so well on Mars I have no doubt he is a fine representative here. Although his age may be a problem at some point.

Sorry, I could not resist. Edgar Rice Burroughs geekiness.

I hope they have their personal video cameras rolling and are delivering the footage to Fox News each evening!

That would make the Tin Pot Dictator Nancy look like the fool she is!

I doubt any action would be taken against a congress person who used a personal camera to film the protest actions. And if Pelosi did try to do something it would definitely make her look bad and make the news!
