I imagine he’ll pull a Bill Clinton and claim that he didn’t technically have another name, as his legal name remained Barack Hussein Obama, and that his name “Soetoro” was a legal alias. Then he’ll say that his critics are racist.

It was a Catholic school that also accepted Muslim students. Barry Soetoro was registered there as a Muslim, and studied he the Koran there under a Muslim teacher.

My mother could have enrolled me as John Jacob Jingleheimer Schmidt in first grade and I’d never know if she changed it back later. Israella Darmawan is every inch a teacher, from her shiny cap of black hair to her sensible shoes. In an office at the Fransiskus Assisi School, she shows me an old register with an entry for Barry Soetoro, as Barack Obama was know then. Bu Is taught Obama in the first grade. She admits she doesn’t remember all her students well, but Barry ... well, he stood out.

A tough question on the first one, but his mother had presumably divorced one Barack Obama Sr. He had left the family when young Barack was about two years old.
When Barack Jr was about six years old, his mother married Lolo Soetoro. The family then went to Indonesia and thence young Barack to school. He was known as Barry Soetoro. Good old Lolo then left his son and Ann. I believe his white grandparents raised him as Barry Soetoro then about ten years old. I stand to be corrected however.
Various ideas as to whether he was re-registered as such. When he was eighteen years old, he reverted to Barack Obama.

Isn’t it interesting how people learn things? Reminds me of trying to teach my kids some one thing or another. Nothing bites, then one day they come home all charged up having learned from a friend, or a friend’s parent or a teacher — “Dad, here’s something I can teach you!”

That may all be true, but I have had to prove who I was for multiple purposes. Being older than Obama, I know the drill and have all the documentation in a folder and how it can be traced to original sources. You would think, a lawyer would know all this and as routine proceedures have done everything properly. There are penalties for lying on these kinds of forms.
