A second group of Spanish Olympic athletes has been photographed making slit-eyed gestures, threatening to overshadow the Beijing Games with a row over racial stereotyping.
The latest photo to emerge shows Spanish women tennis players pulling the pose, apparently in anticipation of their Federation Cup match against China in April.
Pictures of the Spanish mens and womens basketball teams making the gesture, a crude impersonation of Chinese people, were published in adverts in Spanish newspapers earlier this week.
The photos, which were reprinted around the world, added to Spanish sport's poor reputation for racial sensitivity.

Perhaps that’s why they ran the tanks over people in Tienamin - they couldn’t see where they were going.
Seriously, the thin skinned and tyrants deserve scorn and ridicule.
The Chinese have higher IQ’s...the joke is on the Spanish.
An embarrassing mix-up occurs when a group of Spanish athletes is encouraged to "check out the temples" while in Beijing.
This happened all the time in the U.S. during WWII — only then, it was the Japanese who were mocked...
But seriously, I thought the USA was the repository for racial slights!/sarc
ROTFLOL!!!!!!!!
I think they are all “taking pictures” with their imaginary cameras.
Welcome to the 21st century.
I am waiting for ugly people to get the bennies finally due
us. I could have have been a famous hollywood movie star if they werent racist against us uglies.
All China needs to do is yell Boo! Spain will back down, then elect a new, pro-China Prime Minister.
Bugs Bunny:
“You’re a Sap, Mr. Jap!”
As the parent of Chinese daughters, I just have to remind my children that even adults can be jerks. Then we move on with our day.
Haha!!! God bless Spain.
People are offended by this.....but NOT by the genocide in Tibet, or in the Sudan.
What a world we live in!
Stupid is as stupid do. Maybe they are pointing at their brain, or rather the lack of it.
Wonder what the Chinese are going to do to retaliate? Getting my popcorn ready.

I cracked up when I first heard that during my three years in Japan, because I didn't realize that the Japanese really say that. (But, of course, the Nihonjin actually say, "Ah SO desu ka?"...
BTW & FWIW, for a kid who grew up during WWII, I grew to really love the Japanese people and their culture...
That was my first thought. It would be hilarious and show that they can take a joke!
“Wonder what the Chinese are going to do to retaliate?”
Probably flood Spain with cheap plastic crap.
LOL!
You need to post a Chinee Kitty grinning evilly behind honorable owl!
