Mayor of Maryland town, his dogs dead, still waiting for apology
Cops in Prince George's County, Md., have a proud tradition to maintain. In May, a former county officer was sentenced to 45 years in prison for shooting two furniture delivery men at his home last year, one of them fatally. (He claims they attacked him.)
In June, a suspect jailed in the death of a local police officer was found strangled in his cell. Authorities have no idea how that could have happened.
It's unlikely Mayor Cheye Calvo of Berwyn Heights, Md., was thinking of his county's behaviorally challenged boys in beige when he got home from work three weeks back, saw a package addressed to his wife sitting on the front porch, and brought it inside, putting it on a table.
But he should have been.

Prince George Co. is one of the Bluest-of-the-Blue subdivisions in Maryland ... where Democrats have held power forever, and where the Socialist Ideals of a Police State have matured beyond anything - anywhere - in the rest of the U.S.A.
Too many of these asshat cops get a chance to play “cowboys and civilians” and people (and pets, even) end up dead for no reason whatsoever. That doesn’t make all cops bad, but it sure hurts their image. The leadership has failed repeatedly to rein this in effectively. If we’re to be expected to respect the police, they have to change their ways.

I totally agree that this thread will draw all those in denial of just how we common folks can just be stomped on and justice will be denied. The dog killing stripped pant warriers are still working overtime just so we all can post some dumb stories about how we have been abused and mistreated.
A single episode of “cops” will show just how much misery the kitten stompers must suffer in the course of their public policing duties just to keep the peace and protect folks with dental plans and such.

My mother-in-law was made to lie face-down on the floor in the kitchen, several feet away from where Payton was bleeding to death. Her hands were restrained with plastic handcuffs behind her back. She laid there on the floor with her head held down by police so that she could only see Payton's lifeless body for a considerable period of time.
The officers called for me to walk downstairs backwards with my hands up, which I did. The officers then directed to me to kneel down in the living room by the open front door in my boxer shorts with my hands restrained in plastic cuffs behind my back. I remained in that position for a considerable period of time, watching Payton's body in the other corner of the room and my mother-in-law lying face down in the kitchen.
Georgia was questioned by a detective named Kim, who in the course of her questioning managed to talk on her cell phone and to make a veterinary appointment for her dog. Georgia overheard Kim tell her friend that, this was her first raid and that it was "exciting" because it was the mayor's house.

Come on. Every one of these I’ve read about is an isolated incident.
Prince George's County police Chief Melvin High defends the way the raid was conducted, saying the dogs were killed because the officers felt "threatened."
I have heard of few more blatant examples of outright spineless cowardice. What worthless utter scum.

I can't even believe the bologna that PG County residents put up with - speaking as a former PG resident. I remember PERSONALLY, when the juries there were "pulling an OJ" by letting obviously guilty black defendants off. Before you get your undies in a bunch, realize that the VICTIMS were black -- your sisters, your mothers, your neighbors. So, that was what it was like 15 years ago.
Remember, PG is the place where they were threatening parents with jail, if they did not vaccinate their children. They had cops with dogs at the courthouse, no press allowed, for these parents to line up with their children to avoid jail. Hmmm... were there even any doctors present? Were they given appropriate information about risks and possible adverse reactions? Were they told whether legitimate exceptions were available, such as medical, philosophical, or religous? Does anyone care?
The predominantly black neighborhoods around Lanham, MD, in PG county were considering having ID cards for their teens, since the poorer Seat Pleasant, MD, black teens were coming in an playing in the playgrounds in the communities -- it was awkward, because you couldn't exactly cry "racism".
Bottom line, I don't care what race the leaders and cops are - the 4th Amendment is sacrosanct for all citizens, black or white, and the cops should be held to at least a reasonable standared of COMPETENCE before someone innocent gets hurt.

And none of us have problems with armed cops. It's just the ones who have psychological issues stemming from having a unusually small penis we can do without. Unfortunately, the majority of cops under the age of 35 fit this description.

With some of the examples of law enforcement I’ve had the displeasure of training in the past, I’d be concerned even if they had to carry an empty gun and a single cartridge in their shirt pocket...
There is absolutely NO legitimate reason for civilan law enforcement to use full auto weapons on duty. Period. End of sentence. Out of the several dozen or so agency representatives I’ve spoken to in the past, not one could give me a legitimate example of why cops need machine guns.
Get rid of SWAT, get rid of the paramilitary BS that cops are drooling over and America just might start respecting law enforcement again.
