I also agree with you about the Clintons' atrocity in supporting the KLA against Serbia, our friends since WWII for sure.

I don't believe the Clintons have the best interests of USA at heart any more than Jimmy Carter did.

If it would make a difference (which it wouldn't), I'd be fine with sending the Clintons and General Clark to the Russians to do with as they choose to make up for it.

I was horrified when President Bush recognized Kosovo, and I wish there was a way he could rescind that, but at this point that would just be taken by Russia as weakness and they'd just strike harder.

But however wrong we were about that, Russia is wrong now and I believe will reestablish an extended Russian dictatorship if not stopped.

How is a partical accelerator science fiction? Did I not say losing the space station would be uncool? But it’s uncool because it is a symbol of cooperation and a dream of what can be for mankind. Are we going to send the space station to explore Alpha Centauri? That’s only 4 light years away or it taking the Space Shuttle 165,000 years to reach it. That is the nearest star to us on earth.

Repeat after me Maro, I do not know Mathematics, I do not know Physics, I do not know Quantum Physics. Please do not be a jacka** next time Maro and make yourself look stupid - that hurts one’s psyche you know.

Actually, I know quite a lot of math. But shooting “AI” (whatever that means) down a “wormhole” (a speculative entity the existence of which has not been proven) is pure science fiction.

Where did you learn your manners - in some juvenile Hollywood movie? I was thinking one thing and typed another.

Aw, heck. I guess I’m just a bit stressed. My apologies for the snark.

I don’t know what you meant to write, though, it seemed like a slam. Could you explain what you thought you meant?

Putin’s gone mad if he thinks Russia can control Iran and various terrorist groups, but apparently he’s gambling that Russia would be spared a major terrorist attack.

Not gonna control Iran. He will roll Iran. Just like Hitler did to Italy when they did not perform well.

Interesting observation about them notifying Norway. It almost seems like Putin has no career diplomats working for him. It’s all an op to Putin. Poisoning the leaders of neighboring states, backing Iran, signing a cease-fire and capturing a port city - they’re all covert espionage ops.

Notifying Norway? Who knows. Seems like a ham-handed back channel move for no purpose.

Invading Georgia is a far cry from trying to stick nukes back in Cuba. And we are in a far better position today to prevent that, or remove them ourselves, than we were in the 60’s. The only wildcard is political will.

If Obama gets elected, well, then, why the hell not?

If McCain gets elected. Not a chance.

Then again, if tested, Obama may decide he has something to prove if Putin reads him as wimp and puts them in.

There is no real upsiide for Putin to mess with Cuba.

Intimidating his immedaite neighbors is another matter.

Besides, Cuba is no longer in Moscow’s sphere of influence. They are in Beijings now (remember the oil drilling deals?). For Russia to get involved with Cuba means stepping on China’s toes and he won’t do that. He provokes them and the Russians can kiss Siberia goodbye.

=Countries like France were killing them in the total medal =
Not true. For now:
Gold: 1. China - 46; 2. USA - 30; 3. UK - 18; 4. Russia - 16.
Total: 1. USA - 100; 2. China - 83; 3. Russia - 53.

And the sum of all 15 ex-USSR republics is 33 gold and 134 total medals.

Don’t forget also that such “Russian” kinds of sports like Rhythmic Gymnastics, Boxing, Synchronized Swimming are yet to go.
