I suspect things aren't as rosy in Russia as Putin and his buddies say. The Russians for the first time are flush with money and they like prosperity but there is a problem with that. What comes with prosperity is individualism or the desire for freedom. In order for Putin to keep the people's mind from desiring freedom he has created a national emergency. It's an old ploy used by many dictators.
