“Palin will be the second female major party nominee for Vice President (the first was Democrat Geraldine Ferraro in 1984) and the first Republican.”

ALREADY entered on Wikipedia.

What in the heck does her husband being a Native American have to do with ANYTHING??? How petty is that?

Palin is WAY more conservative than Romney could even DREAM to be! She LIVES IT! 80% approval rating in her state... Heck just go read her profile on Wiki... I think she’s going to surprise the heck out of a LOT of people.

Her 5th child, born in April, has Downs. She is very strongly prolife.

She’s a great pick. Only Romney could have actually swung any EV’s McCain’s way-—NV and CO-—but those are states he should win anyway. So far, after firing his first campaign manager, he’s run a near-perfect campaign.

I love the pick, but I’ll wait to see her standing next to McCain in Dayton before I get excited. But, that’s just me...

See my tagline...

Yes! McCain honors the Republican Party and its base, picks who I think just may have the most mettle and leadership potential of our younger leaders, and makes the bold choice.

Would it be ideal if she’d a few more years experience? Perhaps. But looking at Obama’s and Clinton’s experience, recognizing that she’s come up in executive government positions, has such an extraordinary approval rating as guv, and speaks to issues and the press so well I think McCain’s got to get kudos from every serious Republican, as a start.

That was my criticism of Jindal.

But Palin is older than Jindal and has some executive experience which Jindal has and Obama doesn't. And it won't look like two good ole boys!

HAH! I am watching MSNBC, just to see the dejected lefty commentators making this announcement. Andrea Mitchell is on and she looks like someone just told her the worst news in the world.

Sarah Palin is a renaissance woman. She's a dedicated mom to five good lookin' kids, from infant to adult; the eldest son having joined the Army (IIRC) last September 11th, and the youngest son being a beautiful baby with Down Syndrome.

She's smart.

She was a high school athlete.

She's presently a governor of a "frontier state."

She's a sportswoman.

And her husband is easy on the eyes. LOL!

Now, I have an idea for her when she is elected on the McCain ticket in November... She can organize a deer hunt in Rock Creek Park, in DC and Maryland. Many DC commuters would appreciate the thinning of the deer numbers in that park, because of the rising number of deer/auto accidents over the past 10 or so years.

LOL!

Today is a beautiful day. The sky is gray and it’s 67 in August up here in Maine. But it’s morning in America again. John McCain has clinched a huge, mega, landslide win. Election night and the day after will be great as well watching the obama media whores crying themselves into oblvion. The next day we’ll have to worry about what McCain will do. Until then I’m going to enjoy the next couple of months.

Well one problem I believe is that Eskimo is considered a pejorative term. Inuit is what they like.

CNN is trashing her already. First as "Angry commissioner" blah blah bahl.

Then, a reporterette on-site said, "She will appeal to social conservatives. One of her children has Down Syndrome. She knew that before she gave birth and chose to keep the baby because she is anti-abortion [sic]". Another reporter is asking, "Is she up to it? She has a child with down syndrome." They are attacking her with vigor!

None of them look very happy about the pick, esp. in contrast against the fawning coverage of Obama's speech last night.
