Palin’s hubby and son not Republicans
Politico ^ | 29 August 2008 | KENNETH P. VOGEL

Democrats may be blasting Sarah Palin as a doctrinaire conservative, and Republicans may be embracing her for the same reason, but her husband and oldest son are independents.

Or, more precisely, their party affiliation is listed as “undeclared” on voter registration records retrieved from the Alaska Division of Elections.

Todd Palin, husband of the Alaska governor, hasn’t been affiliated with a party since he first registered to vote while he was in his early 20s, in 1989 — the year after he married Sarah Palin. And Track Palin, their 19-year-old son, registered as undeclared when he became eligible to vote last year.

Todd Palin, a regular voter, could have cast his ballot for his wife in her 2006 Republican primary against incumbent Gov. Frank Murkowski because the Alaska Republican Party allows those registered undeclared and “nonpartisan” to vote in the party’s primaries.

File this under "So What"....

You said it. The only good thing about this article is that it demonstrates that the MSM is rattled...they weren't expecting this and are throwing whatever they can find up against the wall to see what sticks. It may have the opposite effect. It demonstrates the strong marriage and family unit the Palins have when they don't feel the need to march lock-step even when one of their number is in elected office!

I've never declared any party affiliation, and with the mess that went on this year I've decided I never will. Independents scare the MSM because they just don't know in advance what we're going to do. Hah!

Yes, thank you. State laws are different. In Texas I'm an independent. Until I choose which Primary I'm voting in and then my card gets stamped ... so I don't go and vote in both.

This isn't an issue ... except in the minds of small petty Dems and Libs who lurk in dark places.

I’m definitely an independent. I vote the people, and the issues. I have basically no trust in any party. Good for her husband and son to be independent, imo.

From listening to the Lib. news today...let me guess,
Talking point put out is either

1. Palin’s inexperience
2. Do the Rep. think woman are dumb enought
to fall for any woman? Using Sarah, what
about KBH..if they were serious, they would have, chosen her!

okay 1. clinton just gave a speech regarding inexperience
2. KBH didnt want the job...and well,Sarah will win the ticket...Something Dems. fear

KBH wasn't right for the job! Sarah Palin is.

I'm not sure I want KBH as Governor of Texas (her next goal, IMHO). I believe it would be just another term for Governor Goodhair. These two (KBH and Perry) are Republican cause it serves them now.

And I "boldly" ditto that...

Excellent point! So excellent in fact, it bears bold repeating...

"overnight they found the voter records of her husband and son and a year later bams’ birth certificate proves ellusive......ROTFLMAO!!!"

Lots of people don't want to be defined as "Republican". Conservatives usually stick around since the party is the best vehicle for a potentially conservative candidate. Independent or undeclareds usually come home when it's time.

Some of these states wish to remain anonymous.

Several of the 57 states don't even have zip codes. They're invitation only.

When I was younger and lived in a closed shop state I've been forced (at various times) to join both the United Steel workers as well as the IBEW. You can bet they know how their members are registered. My registration had nothing to do with how I actually voted.

In some of these 57 united and mythical States there is no personal identification by any political party

Even here, in Obamy's solid blue Illinois, one doesn't "Register" with a party. On primary day, you walk into the polling place and they ask you which ballot you want.

The only reason I am registered Republican is to try to
help conservatives and any laws or amendments that may be
on the final election.

All elections are really local!

Sarah Palin is a registered Republican.

Wow, these “reporters” from the radical, far left vipers den Politboro.com are amazing!

Gov. Palin (notice they don't want to refer to her as a governor) is a registered Republican!

Who knew!
