CNN's Don Lemon & Dana Bash - rude comments made about McCain's "72-year-old heart"
Self (somewhat) ^

Posted on 08/30/2008 8:27:26 AM PDT by SilvieWaldorfMD

I just saw this on CNN five minutes ago.... Don Lemon telling Dana Bash that Sarah Palin is "a heartbeat away from the Presidency, and that's a 72-year-old heart!", to which Dana agreed and went on to say that Palin's executive experience for the past 13 years includes "a year and a half in the Gvernor's mansion and the rest as mayor of a small town in Alaska!" (emphasis made by her on the words "small town" and "Alaska").

This MSM 'meltdown' is so blatantly obvious........

U.S. Representative, Heather Wilson, On The Selection Of Gov. Sarah Palin

Heather: “You know, Governor Palin has more executive experience than Senator Obama, Senator Biden, and Senator Schumer combined because those guys have never run anything. So I find that quite amusing.”

“I was very disappointed with Senator Obama’s choice of a running-mate. He chose somebody else who’s a Washington insider from the East Coast who knows nothing about the west and Senator McCain surely does. I’m also very pleased that he’s chosen as his vice president, the chief executive of the oil producing state in America, strong energy credentials and the energy issue is very important to Americans.”

Bravo Zulu Heather! Sarah Palin has more executive experience than Snowbami, Biden, Pelosi, Reid, Boxer and most of the rats in congress combined.

Is it working? Check these poll results:

Looking at the latest numbers at Real Clear Politics here:

You can see that McCain shaved 4 points off Obama’s bounce.

If God forbid McCain would drop dead during the term, Palin would be the President...Would Pelosi be the Vice President? Now that is very scary...

No. Palin would appoint someone. IIRC, this is how we got Nelson Rockefeller in the vice presidency, when vp Gerald Ford ascended to POTUS after Nixon's resignation.

Sarah Palin is "a heartbeat away from the Presidency, and that's a 72-year-old heart!"

I actually don't see what is so rude about that statement. Almost the exact same thing was said at my small group meeting last night and most agreed. BTW we are all Republicans and most are over 72.

One only has to look at McCain’s great looking wife to know he doesn’t have a bad heart or it would have already gotten him. A problem no doubt Obama will never face!

just be careful about it because they'll probably come back with cancer. McCain will have the best of health care available, but if he's hit with cancer, it could hit fast and furious. remote chance, but he's had skin problems if I'm remembering correctly.

But the Cheney line is great for "hit-and-run" shut-em-up-get-out situations.

This is something I’ve been wondering about a lot lately: The MSM has made it perfectly clear that in their opinion, being old is as good as being dead. Will this piss off enough seniors to put McCain over the top?

Dana Bash, AKA “the Blinker” (she beats Pelosi on this) is two faced - a far-out liberal on any CNN show except Lou Dobbs, where she reigns in her liberalism a bit.

LOL. McCain is such a mean old guy, escaped death numerous times. Don’t kid yourselves Dems that he is going to die before he is POTUS for as long as he chooses. This is his destiny for what he did for his faith and his country.

I know of men and women with 72-year-old strong hearts..... this is ridiculous.... the American Heart Association should put out a statement..... this comment discriminates against older folks and senior citizens.....

Hopefully all of the state of Florida hears this. Stand by AARP.

Well, you do have to deal with the age factor but:

Obama only released a one page medical summary with few details.

McCain released his records.

Thanks to the PUMAs for keeping track of all this!

No. I guess not. I learn more from you and other FRiends than I ever did in school. The only reason I asked that apparent horrible question is that I keep hearing that Pelosi is third in line of the Presidency...so third in line sounds logical.
