Bristol Palin's pregnancy was an open secret back home

He's a superhunky bad-boy ice hockey player from cold country; she's a chestnut-haired beauty and popular high school senior.

Soon the all-American teen twosome will make GOP vice presidential pick and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin a grandma at age 44, just in time for Christmas.

“Unmarried teens having unprotected sex with a pregnancy as a consequence is now something to be cheered and celebrated?”

No.

What we are cheering and celebrating is their courage and conviction in doing the right thing, and getting married, and choosing NOT TO ABORT the child.

And the tremendous family support Sarah and Todd are giving their daughter, and their soon to be son-in-law, and the as yet unborn child.

It’s not the mistakes we make in life, it’s the responsibility we take, or don’t, for them after.

As far as I'm concerned baby pictures are never out of order, you would probably get an even more strenuous agreement from my father, a Pastor, whom loves babies.

This media witch hunt is getting sicker by the minute. Now the NY Daily News and the Chicago Tribune are invading the privacy of not only Bristol Palin, but her boyfriend, his parents, his coach, his friends and their parents

Right. The article says his parents have disconnected their phone. How much longer til the media is camped outside their door? This guy is 18 years old and his entire future has changed. He has enough to deal with without the entire world invading his life. The McCain and Palin camps need to intervene NOW. Anyone halfway competent should have seen this coming a mile away. Protecting your family comes before political gain.

Love. Marriage. Sex. Children: all beautiful things. Sometimes the order is accidentally reversed!

Well said. We're not condoning the actions leading to the pregnancy, but, what's done is done, and you can't change that. The choices made once the pregnancy was known are what we're celebrating.

Tonight on Larry King Alive, Larry asked his “distinguished” panel if Governor Palin is a hypocrite because of the situation with her daughter.

Now, can anyone here explain this idiotic question to me? I assume if the Governor, who is Pro Life, forced her daughter to have an abortion, that would be hypocritical.

I know dear old Larry is busy getting his ninth divorce, but is he really this stupid? Wait, I figured it out. LOL

Did he pay the full $370.00 or did he get off with a pat on the back because of his Govenor connection, CNN and daily KOS will want to know.

First, they have to figure out how Bristol got pregnant when she was 7 months pregnant.

So the kid has the stones to schtup the governors daughter AND not use birth control. Probably thinks he’s a god. I don’t give this marriage much of a percentage of making it.

Two things about this:

1- NANCY DILLON, VERONIKA BELANKAYA and TINA MOORE Staff writers for the New York Daily News.

I see the news media is letting it be, huh?

2 - “Wasilla mom Jennie Johnston, whose son Jade played hockey with Levi, saw the young couple in January at a game.....

She said her son told her the two were already engaged.”

I don’t condone fornication. But it appears these are 2 teens who have been dating a long time and were already engaged before the pregnancy. I was engaged in HS and I know how strong the urge can be.

The kids made a mistake, but are determined to do the right thing. It doens’t take 3 NY staff writers to report on that.

Well if he has the “stones” to do all that perhaps he has the stones to, as we said in the military, to “nut up” and do the the right thing.

If this post makes it past the admin moderator I would be highly surprised, but I definitely have the “stones” to try it. LOL

But it does take 3 NY staff writers to screw in a lightbulb... You all know the drill... One to hold the bulb (Environmentally correct curly-cue flourescent), and two to turn the ladder...

You overestimate the quality of the NY staff writers.

The kid is good looking. Too bad he is also a foul mouthed little shmuck. Have you seen his myspace page? He wouldn’t be allowed in this house.

I live to play hockey. I like to go camping and hang out with the boys, do some fishing," he says on the site.

He also warns that if anyone messes with him, "I'll kick ass."

I hope he also likes to march and shoot fully automatic or burst fire weapons, and won't mind haircut and a shave too much.

Personally, I have a problem with hotshot “jocks” but time has shown me that a bunch of them do turn out to be good solid guys.

And it's usually not all that hard to tell which will, and which won't. The folks in the town seem to think he's good egg, so he probably is.

I seriously think many of the bash Palin posters watch too many soap operas and are now having a hard time with real life. They see a soap plot every where they look.

A man's got a right to be judged by the standards of his place and time. I suspect he's a pretty normal rural Alaskan teenager.

Perhaps so. Or perhaps he marries his sweetheart in time to join the campaign, and becomes heir to the Palin political legacy twenty or thirty years down the road.

Oh we have plenty like that here, but there are also a lot of respectful kids who don’t mouth off all the time. Media perception is every kid in Alaska is a drunk, pot smoking, igloo living fool but plenty of our kids are decent, hard working, respectful kids like anywhere else.

I saw the threads about Jami Lynn Spears when she got pregnant, but never went on any of them. I wonder how the comments there correspond to the comments about Palin’s daughter?

With that snarky comment out of the way, I despise the media, and want to boycott CNN and the rest of these bastards who are making these kid's lives hell.

I haven't posted much on FreeRepublic in a long time, but I've looked at your posting history, and I say you're a troll.

Your "just askin'" questions don't fool me. You defend democrats and attack republicans by throwing out questions, then innocently back off when challenged.

I'm not on here enough to care any more, but the folks around here are sharp and you won't last long.
