John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, as his running mate finally gave Republicans a reason to vote for him -- a reason, that is, other than B. Hussein Obama.
The media are hopping mad about McCain's vice presidential selection, but they're really furious over at MSNBC. After drawing "Keith (plus) Obama" hearts on their denim notebooks, Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews stayed up all night last Thursday, writing jokes about Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, the presumed vice presidential pick. Now they can't use any of them.
So the media are taking it out on our brave Sarah and her 17-year-old daughter.
They claimed Palin was chosen only because she's a woman. In fact, Palin was chosen because she's pro-life, pro-gun, pro-drilling and pro-tax cuts. She's fought both Republicans and Democrats on public corruption and does not have hair plugs like some other vice presidential candidate I could mention. In other words, she's a "Republican."
As a right-winger, Palin will appeal to the narrow 59 percent of Americans who voted for another former small-market sportscaster: Ronald Reagan. Our motto: Sarah Palin is only a heartbeat away!
If you're going to say Palin was chosen because she's a woman, you're going to have to demonstrate that the runners-up were more qualified. Gov. Tim Pawlenty seems like a terrific fellow and fine governor, but he is not obviously more qualified than Palin.
As for former governor of Pennsylvania Tom Ridge and Democratic Sen. Joe Lieberman, the other also-rans, I can think of at least 40 million unborn reasons she's better than either of them.
Within the first few hours after Palin's name was announced, McCain raised $4 million in campaign donations online, reaching $10 million within the next two days. Which shortlist vice presidential pick could have beaten that?
The media hysterically denounced Palin as "inexperienced." But then people started to notice that she has more executive experience than B. Hussein Obama -- the guy at the top of the Democrats' ticket.
They tried to create a "Troopergate" for Palin, indignantly demanding to know why she wanted to get her ex-brother-in-law removed as a state trooper. Again, public corruption is not a good issue for someone like Obama, Chicago pol and noted friend of Syrian National/convicted felon Antonin Rezko.
For the cherry on top, then we found out Palin's ex-brother-in-law had Tasered his own 10-year-old stepson. Defend that, Democrats.

Ann does not have a problem with strong GOP women like Noonan does.
Ann’s comparison to Reagan is right on. Reagan, the last real AMERICAN President this country has had, came from humble beginnings, gub experience, and was a TOTAL WINNER FOR AMERICA. He was hated and maligned by the twisted, TREASONOUS, radical left, just like Palin.
Let the sick, filthy radical left of America show the uninformed of America, what it takes to be a REAL AMERICAN PRESIDENT. They are doing a good job right now. And they will pay dearly for it in November.

On 4/11/05, Chuck Heath telephoned Sergeant Waldron and advised that he had
domestic violence protective order (DVPO) papers to serve on his son-in-law,
Investigator Wooten. During a later conversation, Mr. Heath stated that although
Investigator Wooten had not physicaliyassaulted his daught~r, he acted intimidatingand
in a convel”$ationwith someone else, InvestigatorWooten threatened to shoot him if he
hired an attorney for her and al~o threatened to, “bringher sister, Sarah Palin, down.”

After the Administrative InvestigatiQn had been underway for some time, Chuck Heath
contacted me to report that Investigator Wooten had used a Taser on Heath’s grandson,
Payton. Further, on August 10, 2005, Colonel Grimes received an email from Sarah
Palin outlining a number of complaints that had already been lodged, as well as two new
allegation:;; that had to do with illegal hunting. The email provided names of several
witnesses that were identified by a private investigator hired by Palin.
During the Administrative Investigation, interviews were conducted with Molly McCann
(Inv. Wooten’s wife), Payton McCann (Inv. Wooten’s step-son), Sarah Palin (Molly
McCann’s sister), Bristol Palin (Sarah Palin’s daughter), Charles Heath (Molly McCann’s
. father), Paul Cossette(lnv. Wooten’sfriend), Paul Page(WootenI McCannNeighbor),
David Herrel (Alaska State Trooper), Adrian Lane (Heath’s friend), Marilyn Lane (Heath’s
friend), Steven Menard (McCann’s friend), Greg Goodale (landfill supervisor), Track
Palin (Sarah Palin’s son), Barry Lowe (landfill employee), and Chris Brightbill
(bartender), as well as other employees of the Mug Shot Saloon. I also attended a
Domestic Violence Restraining Order I Child Custody hearing in Anchorage.
As a re~ult of the number of allegations, the individual”issues and determinations will be
evaluated separately.
Molly McCann, Sarah Palin and Track Palin allege that on February 17, 2005,
Investigator Wooten made a comment to Molly McCann that he would shoot her father if
he hired a Iawyerfor her. McCann advised that Investigator Wooten made this comment
. to her, and that Sarah.andTrack Palinwho were listeningover an opentelephoneline
overheard it. Investigator Wooten was questioned about the comment and denied ever
making the statement. Although McCann, Sarah Palin and Track Palin all recalled
hearin~ the statement, a statement ‘or implied threat to a non-present third party is not a
crime. Although McCann and Sarah Palin felt that their father’s life was in danger by the
statement, neither mentioned the threat to their father for several weeks. Nevertheless, a
statement of this sort by a trooper reflects badly on AST.

Molly McCann. alleged that Investigator Wooten was using illegal steroid and
testosterone supplements. McCann based this on information theit she received from
Investigator Wooten. Investigator Wooten was questioned about the use of illegal
steroids and testosterone. Investigator Wooten denied the use of either drug and
provided a privately obtained drug test result showing a normal range for testosterone
(attached). It is uhknown if the test result that Investigator Wooten presented would
show the entire range of illegal muscle building drugs.

related that Investigator Wooten used his position as a trooper to have someone

They further allege that Trooper Herrel, who contacted Investigator Wooten, was aware
of a REDOIfor the vehicle, did not arrest him for OUIand provided Investigator Wooten
. a ride home once he contactedhim.
As.a result of the complaint,Trooper Herrelwas interviewed. Herrel advised that he had
contacted Investigator Wooten that evening and that he didn’t feel that Investigator
Wooten ‘Nas intoxicated or above the legal limit. An interviewwas conducted with the
vehicle passenger who was identified as Paul Cossette (Cossette’s brother is the
registered owner). Cossette advised that he Was intoxicated, however Investigator
Wooten was not. CO$sette stated that Investigator Wooten came to the bar t9 pick him
up. The bartender at the MLlgShot Saloon, Chris Brightbill,was interViewedand advised
that Investigator Wooten had inter\(ened in a domestic dispute hi the bar. Brightbillalso
!:ftatedthat Investigator Wooten had cpnsumed one beer during the hour he was at the
bar. Brightbill provided conflicting statements as to Inv~$tigator Wooten’s level of
intoxication. Initially, Brightbill stated that Lnvestigator Wooten was intoxicated.
However, after specific questioliing, he was unable to substantiate his claim and in fact
stated that Investigator Wooten was not above the le!)allimit to operate a vehicle. He
said that Alaska State Trooper Investigator Wooten exhibited. no outward signs of
intoxication. Legal counsel for MollyMcCann had issued a subpoena to Trooper Herrel
to testify at a DVPOI child visitation hearing. Duringthat proceeding, which I attendep,
Trooper Herrel took the stand. Just as Herrel was preparing to testify, McCann’s legal
couns~1 stipulated that Investigator Wooten was not intoxicated when Trooper Herrel
stopped him. The allegationthat InvestigatorWooten acted inappropriately at the bar by
intervening to prevent a fight was apparently appropriate behavior by a commissioned
member of the department.

Molly McCann made specific allegations of physical abuse by Investigator Wooten.
McCann advised that she was pushed down on two Qccasions,one of which was when
she was holding their infant son, Heath. McCann stated that she was in fear of
Investigator Wooten because of his size and the fact that he is often armed. Molly
McCann could not recall if she was injured during the~e assaults ~nd had difficulty
relating specifics regarding any pain. These alleQations were only brought to light
following initiation of divorce proceedings and the custody battle between McCann and
Investigator Wooten. It I:?houldalso be noted that Sarah Palin stated that she listened to
Investigator Wooten and McCann argue over an open telephone line with her son,
Track, for Mplly’ssafety. Track, however, states that they listened solely for the purpose
of maybe hearing 1nvestigator Wooten acknowledge that he was having extramarital
affair. Molly McCahn stated that she Was afraid of Investigator Wooten during the
argument and was ordered upstairs by Investigator Wooten. . However, Paul Page, ;:i
neighbor who stood outside the Investigator Wooten House (with Sarah Palin), and
watched through a window, stated that although they argued, things did not appear to
get out of hand, and that McCann followed InvestigaJor Wooten up the stairs.

Wasilia, he was extremely intoxicated. Payton McCann advised that he couldn’t tell if

questioned about the events and found to have no first hand knowledge. Palin stated

MollyMcCann reported that Investigator Wooten had attended barbecues at a friend’s
hQme, consumed beer, and then driven his marked patrol car home. Investigation led to

the interview of Marilyn and Adrian Lane who stated that they are long time friends of
Chuck Heath’s. The Lanes stated that InvestigatorVvooten came to their home wearing
civili~m attire in June or July of 2004. Both Adrian and Marilyn Lane agree that
Investigator Wooten consumed a beer at the residence and then drove his marked p~trol
car home. Marilyn Lane stated that Investigator Wooten actually took a beer with him in
his marked patrol car when he left. The Lanes adVised that another person also
witnessed the event, but they were unable to remember who the person was. The
Lanes stated that they didn’t report the incident to AST because they are good friends of
Chuck Heath. It was further revealed during this investigation that Adrian Lane was a
student of Chuck Heath’s in Idaho when he was a child and they have been close friends
ever since. Investigator Woqten stc;itedthat at no time did he drink alcohol and operate
his patrol car nOfdid he do so with an open container.

During the course of this Administrative Investigation, I received another complaint that
Investigator Wooten had used a Taser on his then 10-year-old stepson, Payton.
Following interviews with Payton, as well as witnesses to the event, Investigator Wooten
was re-interviewed. Duringthe re-interview, Investigator Wooten acknowledged that he
did,in fact, use a.Taser on his stepson in a training capacity. As a Taser instructor,
Investigator Wooten should be awarethat the use of a Taser, even in short increments
on a small child should be done. in only extreme circumstances. It is further
compounded by the fact that members of the public are aware of this eVent and that it
reflects badly on AST.

Molly McCann and Sarah Palin reported that Investigator Wooten improperly utilized his
position as an Alaska State Trooper to get out of paying a $5 fine for an unsecured load
at the Solid Waste bisposal Site in Wasilla. Interviews with employee Barry Lowe and
Lowe’s supervisor, Greg Goodale, confirm that Investigator Wooten was upset over a $5
fine for an unsecured load. Both further relate that Investigator Wooten disagreed with
them charging him a $5 fine and stated that Investigator Wooten felt that they were
outside their staMory authority to fine him. As a state trooper, Investigator Wooten
should have been aware that municipalities can levy fines or impose greater restrictions
than those imposed by State law. Investigator Wooten did advise them that he was a
state trooper but did not attempt to use ~is position to get out of the fine. Goodale and
Lowe both stated that Investigator Wooten did not act inappropriately or use foul
language during their contact with him. Investigator Wooten was questioned about the
incident at the landfill and provided the same information. InvestigatorWooten’s conduct
was not found to. be outside his rights as a normal citizen or an employee of the
department.

Information from Sarah P<;llin’semail stated that in September 2003, Investig<;ltoWr ooten
had illegally shot a cow moose. The information indicated that Molly McCann had been
drawn for an antlerless moose pennit and that Investigator Wooten shot the animal. As
a result, Inv~st\~ator Chris Watchus (Wasilia PO), Molly McCann, and Investigator
Wooten were interviewed regarding the event. Watchus and McCann both advised that
Investigator Wooten shot the animal whil~ hunting in Watchus’ boat. Investigator
Wooten was interviewed regarding the event and acknowledged that he shot the moose
and that the permit was in his wife, Molly’s name. Investigator Wooten advised that he
doesn’t feel that it was inappropriate and that he still doesn’t find that it is a violation of
law. This investigator has found that the act of taking the moose was a violation of 5
AAC.85.045 (12) Antlerless Moose and AS 16.05.420 (C) Tag$/ Permit Requirements. It
is hard to und~rstand how Investigator Wooten, a member of the Wildlife Investigations

During the investigation it was also alleged that Investigator Wooten had illegally chased
awalf down with a snowmobile and killed the animal. Chuck Heath was interviewed and
acknowledgedthat he witnessed the event - Heath advised that InvestigatorWooten had
been wolf hunting in an area offthe Denali Highwaywith him. Heath stated that he—shot
a wolf and wounded it and the animal ran. Heath stated that Investigator Wooten
pursued the animal with his snowmobile and shot it several times. Investigator Wooten
acknowledg~d that he did chase the animal with his snowmobile and that he shot the
animal. Investigator Wooten stated that he did not shoot the wolf while riding the
snowmobile. After.l spoke with Lieutenant Waldron, of the Wildlife Investigations Unit, I
learned that the Butte Lake ar~a, where Heath andt Investigator Wooten were, is a
predator control area ;3nd wolves may be legally shot from aircraft and motorized
vehicles.

We had a saying in the mainframe programming business: Some guys have ten years experience but it’s really just one year done over and over.
Among other things, with this experience thing I Want to know two things about a candidate:
1. What did they actually DO.
2. How did they handle adversity.
The answers to those two questions are two of the reasons I am very excited about Palin.

When I saw that McCain was the presumptive nominee I was posting McCain/Coulter. It seems I sort of got my way. I see a lot of similarites between Governor Palin and Ann Coulter, I think Sarah might be a bit more reservered and composed and probably more comforable facing a polar bear.... But, I digress.
We need to hit the Leftists hard and keep pointing out that McCain’s VP pick is more qualified than the Demonrats Top of the Ticket pick. I hate Obamanation more everyday.
If the tooth fairy delivered that to me under my pillow, I’d be prepared to pull out all of my teeth.

My girlfriend met her at a book signing, they talked briefly, and she said Ann is a sweet, gentle woman. She even complimented my girlfriend’s hair. When my girlfriend came back out (i was waiting dilligently outside) she was glowing. I almost got jealous :-)
Nothing against Gov. Pawlenty, as I don’t know much about him, but being governor *longer* doesn’t necessarily even make a person more qualified to be governor again than his challenger is. I always re-evaluate even good Republican incumbents for state and local office, if they have a primary opponent with a pulse and a clue.
They claimed Palin was chosen only because she’s a woman.

Nothing personal, but I skim past all of your posts on threads (after reading a couple) because some of us are sensitive to large blocks of blue font.
It's quite distracting also.
