SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin attended five colleges in six years before graduating from the University of Idaho in 1987. Federal privacy laws prohibit the schools from disclosing her grades, and none of the schools contacted by The Associated Press could say why she transferred. There was no indication any of them were contacted as part of the background investigation of Palin by presidential candidate John McCain's campaign. "Our office was not contacted by anyone," said Tania Thompson, spokeswoman for the University of Idaho in Moscow. Palin, the governor of Alaska, was born in Idaho. Her family moved when she was only a few months old to Alaska, where she was raised. She began college at Hawaii Pacific University, a private, nonsectarian school in Honolulu. She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982, school spokeswoman Crystale Lopez said. Then known as Sarah Louise Heath, she was in the business administration program as a full-time student, Lopez said.

My response to the AP: welcome to the real world that normal, everyday people live in. She’s hardly the first person to have attended multiple colleges.

I attended four different colleges, one of which I transferred back to again, so I guess you could say the same thing about me. But it took me more than six years to graduate, so I guess you could say that Mrs. Palin is smarter than me.

People change colleges for a number of reasons. Finances are a big one. Not all of us regular people can afford the $40K per year it costs to attend Harvard, even if we have the brains to get into it.

I believe it probably has to do with the money. Sarahcuda is quite open as to why she participated in the beauty pageants....to win money for school because no one was passing out sports scholarships to women at that time. She made her own way....

You don't get all A's smoking weed and snorting blow, so how about a little investigation into how Barry got into those Ivy League schools and how did he pay for them.

I’m loving the media scramble to smear Palin. Every time they find something to criticize about her, they find some pretty ordinary normal thing that she has in common with many voters. Hard to make that fly, isn’t it? On the other hand, the criticism of Obama (terrorist and racist friends) - I don’t know too many voters that have that in common with him.
