SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin attended five colleges in six years before graduating from the University of Idaho in 1987. Federal privacy laws prohibit the schools from disclosing her grades, and none of the schools contacted by The Associated Press could say why she transferred. There was no indication any of them were contacted as part of the background investigation of Palin by presidential candidate John McCain's campaign. "Our office was not contacted by anyone," said Tania Thompson, spokeswoman for the University of Idaho in Moscow. Palin, the governor of Alaska, was born in Idaho. Her family moved when she was only a few months old to Alaska, where she was raised. She began college at Hawaii Pacific University, a private, nonsectarian school in Honolulu. She attended only as a freshman during the fall of 1982, school spokeswoman Crystale Lopez said. Then known as Sarah Louise Heath, she was in the business administration program as a full-time student, Lopez said.

Me, too. That’s so normal around here. Students go to one school for generals, then transfer credits to another where they go for core courses, and/or take classes from different schools at one time. Now that more classes are online, the options really open up.

These “journalists” are the ones who are totally out of touch with Americans.

I attended 3 colleges in one year, two in one semester! (took a night class in architecture at a community college just for fun). I think I accumulated transcripts from at least 7 colleges before I had enough credits to graduate. Of course I was moving around a lot and switched majors at least 4 times.

Next thing you know they'll have video of her double dipping a potato chip at a party in her teens.

They are desperate. They are probably contacting all of the Blockbuster stores to see how many times she has returned movies late, denying other viewers the opportunity to see important movies in a timely fashion. If she has ever had a parking ticket, we will know about every one by next Wednesday. Her beauty pageant answers to judges' questions are very likely ready for the moment Obama's numbers go below McCain's, so they can paint her as ditsy.

So what? It took me 4 years to finish a 3 year program. Money..family obligations. Except for a surprise 100 dollar grant I had to pay for everything myself.

Most probably Louis Farrakkon and his sidekick Rev. Wright and most likely they pulled the strings to get both of them in and funded them fully thru the whole experience from church and Muslim coffers.... Just thinkin!!!

Ok, maybe I am missing something but I count:

1. She went as a true Frosh to Hawaii Pacific and only stayed on semmester.

2. Possibly like many true Frosh who transfer after one year, she did not like her school and did not do well. For whatever reason, she transfered to a JUCO, Northern Idaho College.

3. Then she transfered to University of Idaho from which she graduated. This is quite a normal college progression.

4. One semmester she went to a JUCO in Alaska, Matanuska-Susitna College. It is hardly unsual for an out of state student to spend a term at a JUCO near their home.

By my count then this is four schools. Note two are JUCOs where you can not get a four year degree. So that means you must transfer if you want to graduate.

In addition, Governor Palin was in college the following academic years:

1. 82-83
2. 83-84
3. 84-85
4. 85-86
5. 86-87

So beside having the number of schools wrong the article also has the number of years wrong.

Let’s see 18 year old daughter of two school teachers goes to a private school far away from home. Probably expensive, and either she got homesick, or didn’t live up to mom and dad’s expectations, and at that price mom and dad probably had certain expecations. Off to junior college, where she learned to appreciate an education. Then off to finish at the state university, with a semester at home, where she picked up a few credits before returning to the state university to finish up.

Sounds kind of similar to my education. Went to college, decided to change to another college. Spent one semester and hated it. Got sick and skipped a semester. Went back to my original college and picked up extra credits at my hometown junior college over the summers to graduate on time. I guess that counts as four colleges. People still consider me to be a bright person.
