“I need to know as a citizen—will she put her country or children first. You can’t do it all.”

That was an outstanding bit of the interview. Ladies, according to Sally Quinn - YOU CAN'T DO IT ALL! You have to make a choice between career and motherhood. Now don't jump on MY back, Quinn said it, not me! (Of course, a follow up question needed to be ask of Quinn how many other female politicians managed to balance their duties with having small children. And of course, a few male politicians need to be asked the same thing. For instance, "Mr Dem politician, we notice that you have a small child at home. Is it your view that you need not take part in the care and raising of your child and that it is the responsibility of your wife to take care of those matters?)

who is Sally Quinn, never heard of her before.

Wasn't she the first to bring medicine to the hillbillies?

Dr. Quinn

Indeed. After the the announcement of her as the VP candidate I sought out the PUMA boards. I was astounded by the depth of antagonism to the DNC and to Obama. And this was on that same evening. Since the media and blog slanders, the PUMA outrage has grown intensely. It has made the Pres abstainers jump off the fence and actively support McCain-Palin.

Many have even donated and volunteered to the GOP pres campaign while still supporting Dems downticket. Although even that is now in question for many of them since the DNC and O man did not speak out against the sexist remarks.

Here’s what I said then:

LOL here.

The DNC and MSM have no idea yet as to what has been unleashed as a result of the chicanery and thuggery at the convention.

They kicked almost 18,000,000 voters to the curb. If a third, 6,000,000 decide to back McCain-Palin or write in the game is over.

But here’s the icing on the cake. These people were hard core Clinton cadres for 16 years. They were the party’s foot soldiers at the grass roots level. They know how the local game is played and they’re going to play it against the DNC thugs.

Magic eight ball says, within a month, the Dems will see a party backlash that will make them wish they were facing the Viet Cong.

The attacks against Palin are even now being perceived as misogynistic and pulling the fence sitters down and back into the arena against Obama, the DNC and the MSM.

Big changes coming in both parties.

The PUMA forums have estimated very nearly the same number of defections since then. And Hillary actively campaigning for O man isn’t going to bring the PUMAs back into the fold.

The DNC may experience an insurgency/civil war by a good portion of the 18 million HRC voters.

It’s going to be one hell of a E-Ticket ride.

The genious of John McCain was to SURPRISE EVERYONE and not give the media the first chance to destroy her. Sarah was able to introduce herself to America WITHOUT the media!!!

She’s running for VP. It’s not like she is running for a real job.

Her primary responsibilities will be picking the right funeral shoes. If she is very lucky, the democrats will lose a few seats and she can go vote in the senate once or twice.

After being Gov, a VP slot will like retirement.

I just hope they can find a few camera ops for her so we can see her on the news from time to time.

"There is an aspect of sacrifice to being President or Vice President of the United States, and it is a sacrifice borne by every member of the person's family, whatever the age."

Very true. And it's the same for all families of a public servant, those in the military, etc. I grew up as a PK (preacher's kid) and there were definite sacrifices. But there were positive aspects, as well, and I have no doubt that will be the same for Sarah's family. I'm sure they discussed all this, weighed the pros and cons, and made their decision accordingly. It's truly none of our business, really, how they handle their family.

I don’t know who Sally Quinn is either and I’m not sure I care who she is.

I don't think anyone here believes it is going to be easy for Palin to balance the care of the baby with her Vice Presidential duties. Nonetheless, she will have a lot of control over her own schedule. As Vice President, she will decide for the most part when and where she goes, and if things are not convenient, she will be able to adjust some appointments and meetings to her convenience. Most of Washington D.C. will come to her, not the other way around.

She and her evil cabal realized their attacks were generating huge blowback and were a huge mistake.

We knew that when Hussein was forced to call off the dogs.

Awesome, Joe!! Has anyone observed that Sarah Palin does not hire nannies, either—she has grandparents, aunts, uncles, her husband, and her teenaged children, not to mention an adoring sister age 7 to care for Trig. Back off, mommy monsters, and let this capable woman decide where her priorities are.

Change the party tags and imagine how members of this forum would react to Obama’s wife dragging out young’uns during a campaign speech, particularly a newborn with downs syndrome.

I reject the premise of your argument

The democrats would never do that even if they had someone of the stature/ pro life ( which they don't )

I know you probably don't mean to sound crass. Your statement sounded as though the Palin’s should be ashamed and hide their little boy with Downs away as though it is embarrassing.

You are just wrong. He is a darling little child.

Shame on you.

So what did happen on Friday ...

She read her email and got the results of some internal polling. She saw her career warning light going off in the corner of her eye. One does not have that much of a dramatic shift after a good night's rest. I say she has all the sincerity of a Peggy Noonan. The Mighty Quinn - bah!

What U-Turn?

She concluded by saying that Sarah is a woman with five kids, one of which is a disabled child, who need an enormous amount of time and effort.

“I need to know as a citizen—will she put her country or children first. You can’t do it all.”—whined Sally.

Oh, but Michelle did! And in a much more dramatic fashion than did Sarah. Don't you remember the video screen hookup? There was one heck of a lot more stagecraft involved in that than in the Palin family coming out on stage.

Show me a convention when there family doesn't come out on stage and I'll show you a childless couple. Sorry, your premise is flawed.
