UN Say Eat Less Meat to Curb Global Warming
The Observer ^ | 09-07-08 | Juliette Jowit

People should have one meat-free day a week if they want to make a personal and effective sacrifice that would help tackle climate change, the world's leading authority on global warming has told The Observer

Dr Rajendra Pachauri, chair of the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, which last year earned a joint share of the Nobel Peace Prize, said that people should then go on to reduce their meat consumption even further.

His comments are the most controversial advice yet provided by the panel on how individuals can help tackle global warning.

If we shut down the UN, “global warming” would no longer be an issue due to the resulting reduction in hot air.

I don’t know, if they could “grow” a 50-pound tenderloin. . .

And cattle aren’t terribly efficient. Problem is, grass-fed cattle TASTE different than grain-fed, not sure they’d be able to compensate.

OTOH, the possibility of massive amounts of cheap Argentine Pampas-type beef. . . yum!

Let me, most FReepers, and Patriotic Americans, along with Johnny Cash, tell you how we feel about your lackluster, sorrya$$, communist regime...

We need a law banning meat consumption by anyone connected to the UN while in the US.

Real smart. The world is entering a cooling period which will cause crop yields to fall and the UN wants to help that cooling along.

I will now eat meat in at least 2 meals a day, as my budget will allow.

This kind of “global warming” is just plain garbage.

Rajendra Pachauri

On December 10, 2007, Dr. Pachauri accepted the Nobel Peace Prize on behalf of the IPCC, along with co-recipient Al Gore.

He was on the Board of Directors of the Indian Oil Corporation (January 1999 to September 2003)

He is a strict vegetarian, partly due to his beliefs as a Hindu, and partly because of the impact of meat-production on the environment.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day. Not eating meat is a good way to curb your saturated fat and LDL cholesterol. Now, if Sarah Palin wants to send some salmon (HDL) my way...

Don’t clog your arteries just to spite the United Nations. Instead, burn a UN flag; it will create carbon dioxide.

So the UN is going to take meat off their cafeteria menu, not allow meat to be brought on the premesis, and disallow all meal expences where meat was served? Riiiight!

“There is hope for everybody who wants to improve their life.”

Or for everybody who has the leisure to get out and walk every day for about two hours, and the money to buy healthy foods.

The rest of us can just keep getting fatter and tireder.

Let the girlie-men have their estrogen-laden soy. Soy has estrogen. That’s why vegans are such effeminate girlie-men. Let them get sick from eating all that soy derived from Monsanto’s Roundup Ready GMO soybeans. THEY are the REAL “useless eaters”.
