We need to show that McCain led on this and that the DIMs where at the core of this mess and fought reform efforts
Because the MSM isn't covering this part of his campaign speech. What you see on FOX is nothing like what the report on the other stations.AWB
Here is how I see it:
1. In the early 2000s when Bush wanted to make changes is really when it was early enough to stop this problem.
2. Bush won’t speak out much because he had a GOP Congress and they did not get it done.
3. McCain’s call for reform was probably too late, but it is good that he made the call.
Same as energy. He has had the upper hand on both these issues, but flat out refuses to discuss. I still support this President because he has done so much right in these eight years, but the lack of any media efforts for going on 5 years is just jaw-dropping to me. He has been redefined, and no one seems to want to do anything about it.

Probably because that would give the Rats another thing to link McCain to him and McCain is trying to distance himself from Bush,right or wrong the Lame Stream Media has done it`s work portraying this administration as “the worst in history...”.

He's a terrible speaker and not glib enough when much or most of the public takes or confuses smarmy, oleaginous glibness as the God's honest truth.

President Bush has never thought it part of his job to defend himself or his policies. His standard response is, “We’ll let history be the judge.”
Part of his oath of office is to protect us from all enemies, foreign and domestic. We clearly have domestic enemies in the form of the Democratic leadership, but President Bush can’t be bothered to push back.
He’s personalized the attacks, which he had no right to do. He gets to play the martyr and feel sorry for himself, and he gets to be the southern gentleman and good Christian who turns the other cheek. He had no right ot do any of that. He had the duty to fight back, for our sake, not his.
Part of it also is his resentment at the GOP for not standing up for him, so he won’t stand up for them. The story is that McCain blocked him from attending the GOP convention in person, and Bush was enraged, because he thinks he’s been doing a good job.
The thing I like about McCain is that he doesn’t personalize things, and he is willing to make the hard calls. He was right about Fannie Mae, he was right about Iraq, and—it pains me to say this—he was right about Rumsfeld.
President Bush was simply not the right man for the job. He lacked the emotional maturity to see the big picture and see how he—as an individual—doesn’t matter when compared to his role as president.
McCain’s speech at the convention was amazing. He said he had been a selfish person until he had the crap kicked out of him for five years, and then he became America’s man.
I believe him, and I believe he won’t make the same mistakes President Bush has.
Oh, he’ll make his own mistakes, I’m sure! But he’ll fight back, and he’ll explain his policies and include us in the discussion.
He won’t shrug off his responsibilities and say, “We’ll let history be the judge,” which is really just a cop-out.

Bush is a wimp.....always has been...I think he’s basically a good man, but stand up for himself and the right way to do things....never.....
