All she has to say is....Jesus said, in John 14:6, “I am the way the truth and the life, no man comes unto the Father, except by me.”
And smile as she says....I can not add any more to that Charlie, Anderson, Keith, Chrissy......
I would add..”the Bible says what happens to folks who hear the truth and reject it...it doesn’t quite elaborate on what happens to those who never had a chance to hear the truth but might have accepted it had they heard it! In the end, God is the final judge! Meanwhile I(Sarah) will be the vice president of all Americans regardless of their faith!”
Why are non-Christians even interested in going to a Christian heaven?
It makes no sense.
Considering the nasty invasion by the media upon Ms. Palin’s life and family issues, I think she should draw
the line at having to explain her religious beliefs to anyone.
The abortion question is obvious to anyone with a brain - she has already made that decision in the beautiful form of her youngest child.
It is an extremely personal topic and why people feel the need to defend or explain what is difficult even among friends - she should refuse to submit to a third degree from people who will make nothing but insult and sarcasm
from her reply.
Tell the questioners to back off - you have to put up some boundaries Ms. Palin.
Jesus Christ, himself, said that no one would come to the Father except through him and I believe his word. But he did not reveal exactly how that would work for the millions of people who either never heard of him or those who never professed belief in him. I do know, however, that he knows the heart of every man and that his judgment is perfect.
One heaven with different neighborhoods. The neighborhood with a plethora of virgins is, of course, Muslim. :-)
Useless advise; the debate is going to go to specific questions (the librarian incident, specific comments by her church pastor, etc) that invites a negative conclusion without a bright-line point at which it can be addressed squarely.
Sarah is about to kick MSM and Democrats Butts again.
Let’s be serious. Palin already dealt with this issue on Hannity. However the question is posed I’m sure the Governor will knock it out of the ballpark. I have noticed she has a remarkable ability to turn a negative question into a positive response. And she does it with no apparent hesitation in responding to the interviewer.
The wonderful thing about Palin is that she doesn’t have to remember what she said to a different crowd about an issue. She’s open and without guile. I’ll stack up a well adjusted, contented and intelligent person like Gov. Palin against the likes of Biden and Hillery any day any time. They can certainly bring to bear all their little debating tricks and flip off quips. But Palin’s basic honesty will win the day.
It is the rare (and irrational) person indeed who does not believe that his/her faith is the correct and truth faith. Otherwise, why have a religious faith at all? What do Muslims believe about the truth of their faith? Jews? Catholics? If you do not believe that yours is the true faith, why would you even have it as a faith?
As for what Gov. Palin might say in response, I think there are a number of good answers above. I think a simple statement that “My beliefs are based upon the Holy Bible, but I recognize that others do not holds those beliefs. Each person must believe as his faith, or non-faith, directs.”
All that aside, if a person doesn’t believe that Christians are correct in what they believe, why would that ever bother them? If I believe that only men with brown eyes are going to heaven and all others are destined for hell, why should it bother you, unless you think I might be correct?
“but she doesnt believe that”
why do you say that? Christians DO believe that any who don’t accept Christ DO go to hell.
not all.. I know she doesn’t.
Quoting or referring to Scripture is the best way to go. Let the lamestreams argue with Scripture or the words of Jesus Christ, instead of giving them an opening to put words in a candidate’s mouth and then spin those words to suit their agenda (”Sarah says everybody who doesn’t believe as she does is going to hell!”)
You reckon if she just answered, “That’s above my pay grade”, the MSM would give HER a pass, too?
Well said! A couple interesting tidbits from Damon's IMDb biography:
- His parents divorced when he was two and he spent part of his childhood in a commune in Boston with his mother, a specialist in child education.
- Grew up next door to radical historian Howard Zinn. Damon references Zinn's seminal work "A People's History of the United States" as Will in Good Will Hunting (1997).
Says it all, doesn't it?
To refuse to talk about your faith at all is anathema to an evangelical Christian. It is not acceptable to act ashamed of Christ, which is exactly what the “it’s none of your business” answer implies.
I personally believe that only a splinter group of voters are concerned about the notion of a strong Christian leader. Most of those who aren’t Christian themselves, have the common sense to know that Christianity is not something to hold against a leader. And those who are concerned, were never in a hundred years going to vote McCain-Palin under any circumstance.

I still maintain Palin doesn’t have to respond to queries about her religious belief.
She can tell the interviewer that is personal business and to try another set of questions more important to the people of the nation.
Religious queries and responses lead to criticism, mocking, negative response and ill will - the candidate cannot win any of those discussions because everyone has their individual belief (or none at all as it seems with some).
She doesn’t ‘owe’ any interviewer - nor us the people - her explanations - her actions have given me enough testament to her veracity and honesty backed up by a strong religious faith.
I don’t see it as being with shame at all - only personal and not requiring defensive argument or clarification.
I need no confirmation and ask no more proof from a political candidate.
I disagree. Even some people who consider themselves Christians are not comfortable with someone who puts forth their religious beliefs all the time. Many otherwise religious people don't like having religion forced on them by others, especially if the other person doesn't agree with their own beliefs.
We are a nation that is tolerant of people of all faiths, and even though the United States was founded on Judeo- Christian beliefs, we were built on the notion that NO faith should have absolute rule.
Joh 3:18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
Joh 14:6 Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Mat 10:28 And fear not, them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
As Christians, we do not get to pick and choose which parts of the Bible to believe.
So, if Ms. Palin is Christian, she does believe non-Christians will reside in hell.
