That was an obvious ‘gimme’ for Congress to change.n Of course congress would demand oversight and no matter what Bush admin said, the Congress would rewrite it. I am thinking they did that because they knew Congress would define the oversight anyway so they took an extreme position for negotiating purposes. In other words, it was a negotiating tactic not a serious position.

It’s not overkill. The corruption needs to be soundly defeated so that future Congress critters, CEO’s etc. think twice or three times before they do something like this again.
