I miss Phil... I have always thought he was the funniest on SNL... think he is highly underrated, especially considering since up until Darrell Hammond had the record for the longest performer on the show
too bad you can’t watch these older episodes anymore now that E! has the re-run rights instead of Comedy Central

That one is a classic, from SNL’s renaissance period of about 1988 to 1995. It became funny again during those years, then kind of sunk below the surface again and has more or less remained there. Phil Hartman, Jan Hooks, Dana Carvey, Dennis Miller, Mike Meyers, Kevin whatshisname, the pathological liar guy (yes I am terrible with names) — it was wall to wall talent.
