U.S. Report Says Iran Purchases S-300

Iran has purchased the S-300 air defense system, a report said. The Bipartisan Policy Center, established in 2007, asserted that Iran has recently purchased the Russian-origin S-300 system. In a report titled "Meeting the Challenge: U.S. Policy Toward Iranian Nuclear Development," the center suggested that Iran has acquired the system.

Ladies and gents, this is not good news. This is a very good system. Not so sure the Syrians had it (if they did please let me know), but this is a very tough system to defeat. The key question is; so they bought, when is it up and running.
And about two months or less before operational is when Israel will strike if they ever will. The hammer is cocked, and this is the trigger and timer for Israel’s decision to strike.

Well, yeah, they will be real expensive if we get our asses blown into the sky and have to start rebuilding from scratch while scrambling to update our weapons systems and simultaneously fighting an enemy armed with advanced weapons systems better than ours, all the while rebuilding cities and communities destroyed by our enemies.

You're right. Apparently the S-300 is a variant on the late 70s vintage SA-10. However, there already exist standoff weapons designed specifically to deal with it. Such as:

Russia is foolish to think it can keep a heavily armed Iran under control. It’s kind of like trying to befriend a bottle of nitroglycerin. They don’t seem to realise that those islamic nut jobs in Iran hate them as much as they do us.
