This video should shake you to your core. Obama supporters in Missouri are blatantly announcing that law enforcement will be used to prosecute you if you are part of campaign ads that tell, in their opinion, "lies" about Barack Obama.
And we thought the Clinton machine was bad? This is frightening. When will the lies be prosecuted about Palin, McCain, and Limbaugh? The answer is, they won't. This is how a free republic is taken down. When will freerepublic be taken down?
I can just picture them cuffing Palin and McCain for slamming Obama. The sad part is this isn’t a joke.
This is about intimidation and suppressing the truth about Obama. If they scare people with prosecution, they only need to hide the truth another seven weeks.
Truth...as they see it! 1st Ammendment declared illegal in Missouri!...by the dummiecrats. Is calling them dummiecrats a lie? Come git me!!!!
Got get this out there and make a stink about this... If they prosecute for false statements about Obama are they also going to do the same for McCain...? These guys should be forced to resign...
Ya know, it just occured to me that the VP Debate is next week in St. Louis . . .I wonder if all of those in the area should make the most obnoxious signs we can and go down to Wash U and wave them around. I can see it now . . .StL county cops arresting ppl for excercising their right to free speech.
Don’t forget the Jewish groups who were sponsoring the anti-Ahmedinejab rally in NYC being threatened with losing their tax-exempt status unless they kicked Sarah Palin off the program.

Wish we could get answers or updates about this big ongoing problem. The 3 new servers were installed earlier this week, but it seems they haven't helped the slow and no access problems even a little bit. It's been like this on and off for many months now. I hope it gets resolved soon, because I don't see FR making it through the elections otherwise. It's so frustrating!

I just called county prosecutor Bob McCulloch's office. I spoke with his secretary Cindy.
DFU: I saw the KMOV piece last night regarding the lies being told about Barack Obama. It is about time someone is doing something about this. Last night I saw a bumper sticker that said BARACK OBAMA IS A MUSLIM. I asked the guy about it and where he got it, and I think I may know the printer in St. Louis who is printing that bumper sticker. When I can verify the information, would Mr. McCulloch like to have that information?
CINDY: In light of what Mr. McCulloch has said, I would gather that would be something he would need to know.

and told them if they weren’t going to enforce the law across the board to include lies about McCain, they were infringing on first amendment rights and strong arming Missourians.

In order for a public official or a public figure to prove defamation, they must prove actual malice. Actual malice requires that the person suing prove that the challenged statement was published by those who either knew it was false or were reckless in verifying its accuracy.
Who is a Public Official?
The Supreme Court has said that a public official is one who, at the very least, has or appears to the public to have, a substantial responsibility for or control over governmental affairs.
Who is a Public Figure? There are two categories:
(1) General Purpose Public Figure: a “celebrity,” whose pervasive fame or notoriety has made his or her name a “household word.”
(2) Limited Purpose Public Figure: someone who has voluntarily assumed a leading role in a particular public controversy.
