Rasmussen: O 50 - M 44
Rasmussen ^ | 9/27/2008 | Rasmussen

Posted on 09/27/2008 6:41:56 AM PDT by ubaldus

Obama's lead in Ras' tracker is now at 6 points (from 5 pts yday and 1 pt a week ago). Since Rasmussen fixes the party ID breakdown at D +5.5, McCain must be trailing with the independents now.

Imo, the only thing which can make it close is a stock market recovery in October. Probably bailout-induced.

It’s not over and if anything it’s time to remind America about the radical associations with Jeremiah Wright and who could possibly be walking in our White House. Get the videos out there....and fight. This is just not over...and lots can happen. McCain by far looked more experienced and the economy does not help....but....Rezko is supposedly singing like a canary from news yesterday and it’s not close to being over....

Yeah....hopefully soon the “whitey” tape will emerge.
If there is one... I still say McCain camp has something big on Obama and they still have not put it out there yet. McCain is playing too nicey nice lately. I am crossing my fingers....and toes.
I still can't believe Character doesn't count in this election. sheesh!

The midwest will keep Barry out of the White House. I don’t see Barry winning PA and NH, and he’s struggling in MI and MN.

Nobody cares about earmarks now.

After last week, every Joe Schmoe knows that we are about about to create a $700,000,000,000 unsecured credit line to Wall St, and so the number like 10 or 20 bln in annual earmarks no longer sounds impressive.

This talking point must go, or at least be deemphasized.

McCain did a great job of talking about the future as guided by his experience. To idiots that experience is “the past”. Sadly, younger Americans have no use for the older more experienced generation.

Obama recited a lot of empty platitudes, health care, new energy grids, better education. But Obama’s policies on these are crazy or non existent. McCain needed to do more of realizing people were hearing that and exposing Obama on it.

New energy grid to distribute the non existent alternative energies? Think about the huge energy infrastructure of power lines, gas pipelines, fuel trucks, etc. Obama is just going to create an all new one to bring power from the windmills that don’t exist, while preventing use of oil, coal, shale, nuclear. Brother.

There will not be an immediate stock market recovery, bailout or no bailout. That’s life. McCain should not use the traditional Republican nominee playbook of “things are largely hunky dory on our shining city on a hill” (which he all but said in the first segment of the debate instead of taking on Obama). McCain should be crusading for reforms and warning the country about both Obama’s nutty plan and the Democrats in general. He didn’t do it.

The only reason Ross Perot was a factor....was the ECONOMY!!

I remember the media beating the drum day in and day out for months about how bad the economy was. Every time they had to report some good economic news, they would add :"But XXX is still as bad as ever!" Every. Single. Time.

It was sickening and infuriating and it got Slick elected.

With the truth squad in Missouri and the lawsuit against NRA, do we really think there will be freedom to oppose the Dems in 2012?

The MSM won’t even be honest about him winning a debate.

If this surprises both you and the McCain campaign, then yes, we'll lose.

What was Rasmussen’s track record in 2004 and more recently? I mean, this guy was the same guy that ran the Portrait of America poll which projected Bush winning in 2000 by 10 points.

“totally irrelevant poll...”

Wasn’t Bush down 6 to Kerry in October ‘04? Didn’t the MSM say the debates debates between Bush and Kerry were a draw?
I agree w/ you - this poll is irrelevant. The only poll that matters is election day.

Polls that show Obama ahead worry me greatly. Having the most liberal senator become president would be bad enough, but I'm far more worried by those who control him having full, unrestricted access. People like Soros, Acorn, and allah knows which radical muslim groups, etc. etc.

This is one mission McCain needs to complete successfully. No getting shot down this time or we'll all wind up being tortured for 4 years in the Hussein Hilton.

Look what they have done to the price of energy and now mortgage, credit, banking and the market and not only are they not in jail, they got filthy rich and are now blaming Bush and the market! Don't worry, now they'll fix it. It'll only cost $700 BILLION. Who says crime doesn't pay?

Imagine what they will do to health care and social security, not to mention the Supreme Court with the likely appointments an unopposed liberal President and liberal Congress will select with barely a handful of token conservative republicans to oppose them.

McCain is far from perfect, but he's the only one standing between us and a very bad future.

I didn’t say I was surprised by the media declaring it a “Tie”, I was just stating a fact.

There is a tape of Obama reading from his own book. He says “the world’s in need because of the white man’s greed” or something very close to that and then states that type of sermon is the reason he joined Wright’s church.

Having the dims benefit from the financial mess they and their socialist policies created is akin to paying the fox who has cleaned out the henhouse to run a security detail to prevent further mayhem.

If the roots of this remain invisible it will lay at the door of the so called republican leadership that they have not the stones or the articulation to get the message out.

Anybody who saw the debate knows that McCain took him to school after the first 15 minutes. The media is going to lie that is nothing new and if they keep changing the internals of the polls maybe it will show that odumbo has 101 pct of the votes

McCain is good at getting the race closer in deep blue states, but he needs to forget those left leaning “independents” and hit Obama hard in the next debate, and not just in some
you tube ad.

I was never a big fan of McCain to begin with- he has too much of a history of working with the dems- but I’m disappointed that it looks like BO is going to walk away with this one.
I suppose I can go ahead and vote for Barr now to send a message to idiots in Washington that I’m tired of choosing between lesser evils.
