**He came across to me as being very arrogant.**
I don’t think Obamanation cares about us. He only cares about himself.
I noticed at one point toward the end, BO start smirking at McCain, when McC hadn’t finished his thought. Don’t recall the thought, something about Bush policy but — it was clear as McCain progressed that the “thought” was not stupid, and — it was also clear that it was something that BO felt was reasonable, as McC elaborated it.
It really hurt BO. He went from a smirking expression, to a dead-pan look, in about 3 seconds.
BO has this “knee jerk” smirk response problem; he needs to reign it in, if he wants to be taken seriously...
The debate last night was like watching an ADULT debating a high school debating team captain (teen-ager). For the most part, BO is overly confident, and under educated.
Plus, he’s a socialist - an obvious negative - and could use a few economics classes.... as could one half the country (about half of adult voters). It continues to shock me, as an economist, that people worship and SUPPORT this guy (BO), he is really an uneducated light-weight. I guess it’s the cult of personality at work. Still,- frightening....
**I hope that McCain reminds BARRY of all the things he agreed with him on over and over and over and over and over and over and over again and then has 1-2-3 punch knockout lines ready**
McCain’s crew issued a YOUTUBE commercial without minutes after the end of the debate featuring several of those, “I agree with Senator McCain” “I agree with you, John,”
It was hilarious.
Forget what it was called. But it’s probably on McCain’s website. (Oh, I thought McCain didn’t do computers...sarcasm. LOL!)
Kerry could have just been told that his good friend Paul Newman had passed. No Kerry fan here but my gosh, have some sympathy.
The stats on the CNN poll were 2:1 Democrat. They even had more independents than Republicans. Republicans don’t watch CNN. I think that FOX had McCain at 82% when I turned off the tv.
McCain: Isnt it true that you agreed with my on position X?
Obama: Yes it is.
McCain: Well, this is news, since just xx months ago you said XXXXXXXXXXXXX. What made you change your mind?
**under educated.**
I detest his “gonna” and “gotta” use. No President would ever speak this way.
LOL! That would be a good Abbott and Costello show, huh? Laughing as I think about it.
Geez, all I did was post the pic. Besides, P. N. death was all over the news this morn not LAST NIGHT !Goodness don’t have a cow!
That’s his foul-mouthed daughter, isn’t it?
One good thing about the debates:
Freed from all the fawning media coverage, fake fainters, drooling talk show sycophancy, we see the “One” for who he is: someone who says nothing better than anyone has said nothing. (and probably in the case of Biden, someone who says a whole lot of nothing.)
Freed from the skewed media coverage, fake editing, frothing at the mouth talk show attacks, we see McCain as who he is: strong, experienced, steady, even if we don’t agree with some or many of his views. (and hopefully we will see that with Governor Palin, even though we only get one debate of her, versus two more of McCain.)
I may not have phrased that coherently, but that’s along the lines of what I’m thinking.
ROFLMAO!!!
The other biggie was this confrontational body language from Ovama to McCain. Obama was itching for a fight, to try and ger McCool to lose his temper. But, McCool stood there stoic and Presidential, and not at all phased by Obama's rude rants and constant childish interruptions like, "I did not," "That's not true, "You did this," and other repeated attempts to get McCain's goat and paint him wit a broad Bush brush.
I loved it when McCain never looked in his direction, never stooped to his level of catcalls, never looked him in the eye, but kept his focus on the issues and on the audience.
When Obama speaks, it's like listening to instructions on how he would connect a stereo system, but without him ever actually connecting it. We get the "how to do it," but Obama never gets to where we can hear all this sweet music he's promising to play.
There are two more debates...if after those two remaining debates, and the time inbetween, the same applies, I will agree with you.
This is a bloody weird election cycle.
See #29 below
Excuse me for bursting into the amen corner, but as an ardent conservative who warned everyone about McCain’s weaknesses and his haughty personality, you are seeing it play out in spades. Independent women are CRUCIAL to capturing the White House, and that performance last night is tracking catastrophically with that demographic.
I warned you about his erratic behavior and last week did not do him any good with independents.
I warned you that he was dangerously cavalier about fundamentals, and now you are seeing the Palin choice imploding. There is no way you can view the Couric interview and not come away shaking in your boots. This campaign is teetering on the edge of a cliff, and I can guarantee you that Thursday’s debate will push it over the edge.
McCain has one option and one only if he wants to win: Dump Palin and put in Romney. Anything less and he’s toast.
Sorry, but that’s the straight talk express.
Holy stink bomb, Batman! The release of all that smug into the air could be devastating to the rest of the Earth.
Rose, that Flurch Munster picture at 29 is begging a “Caption this” thread.
Here are a few of mine, off the top:
“No, Teresa, don’t cut me off!”
“What do you mean, say Obama won? People know what they saw!”
“Dammit, I won my first debate! I told him not to smirk!”
“No, Barry...the line was ‘I made a mistake in what I said, McCain made a mistake in what he did!’ Doofus!”
“How will I work in the phrase ‘When I served in Vietnam’ to this? When I served in Vietnam, it was easier!”
(2nd photo) “Sir, the cameras are watching you look humiliated right now.” Kerry: “You’re not rich and single, are you?”
kerry: "This idiot was worse in the debate than I was."
