During her screed on the floor of the House, Nancy Pelosi declares that she doesn't know why the "Great Depression" was called "great," but said that's what they called it.

I tracked down the video, played it for him and he had to concede. Nancy Pelosi may be the stupidest person in Congress.
I think it's ironic how the MSM, Democrats, and chattering class in general try to portray every national Republic figure as a few bricks shy of a full load (e.g., Reagan, Quayle, GW Bush, Palin), sinister (e.g., Cheney), or aloof (e.g., GHW Bush). Meanwhile they ignore the stupidity of Pelosi, Biden, and Gore. They ignore the sinister actions of people like the large cadre of Democrats behind the financial crisis. They ignore the aloofness of the same people. Generally, Republicans are portrayed as one or two of the three, while Democrats embody two or three out of three.
I’m surprised she doesn’t know why it’s so “Great”; her party is largely responsible for dragging it on so long (though Hoover shares some blame).

The democrats were crying after the bailout vote that the Republicans didn’t stand by the bipartisan agreement (that was made the old way; ie, a deal made in a “SMOKEY back room”). The dem’s wouldn’t admit that, though, even after Pelosi took away all the Blackberries from the staffers in the closed-door meetings, to preclude leaks of what was going on. The only difference this time was that the House is now SMOKE-FREE.
As Speaker if this woman had a brain in her Dem head she really would be dangerous.

Is she a narcisist, or what? Who really cares whether she knows any history or not? The point is that is up to her to make sure we don't have another "great" one.

And the chattering classes in the media elite, including a few on FOX Business Network, are basically calling the American public stupid for opposing the bailout.
Avoiding the fact that the ink was not dry on the bill by the time the voting began, perhaps it is just that the American public has no confidence that someone who would say something as dumb as Pelosi did could craft competent and effective legislation?

I’ve watched Nantsy Pelosi on TV a number of times. You know how Chrissy Matthews always spits when he talks? Well, why does Nantsy always move her lips so funny? That weird thing she does with her upper lip is so strange. Does Botox make you talk with funny lip motions? It’s kind of like she’s trying to imitate Marilyn Monroe, but doing it in a funky way.
It’s REALLY strange. Watch her mouth when she talks, sometime.
It’s gotten worse over the years, too.
When I saw this, I thought, “My Lord, Pelosi needs to apolgize individually to each and every woman in the whole wide world for embodying the stereotype of the witless twit.” Twitless wit? Whatever.

Heard her say it, she was absolutely serious, and mind you this was when she was referring to the great depression in her speech, when she revealed she doesn’t even know what the term means.

Today John said that Obama’s liberalism would “deepen our recession.” Yes, it probably would or will, if we have two successive quarters of GDP decrease, and therefore a recession. I don’t doubt we can have one, but it ain’t here yet, and it *might* still be preventable.
Someone should tell Pelosi that it is Congress that spends the money, not the President.
