“Probably not counting Detroit - Bush was winning the whole state in both ‘00 and ‘04, then the Detroit returns came in and it was all over. “

Hmmm, you mean the ACORN votes came in!

Which begs the question. With Michigan is such desrepair and under Democratic leadership, how is the state GOP such a disaster?

California is the same way. Then again, I was in the GOP decades ago and have since gone non-party Independent because the GOP is such a lost cause. Doesn’t surprise me, the party has been a joke for a long time.

This is alot like Election 2000, McCain is better served concetrating on the Mtn West and NH then the Upper Midwest and PA.

MI/MN/WI/PA were always longshots for McCain.

Trying not to 'clutch' here. . .

And of course, the reviews on Palin tonight already written. . .Biden, no doubt has the script. As it seems, does Obama as well. . .

Didn’t you post this same comment on a different thread? I think you did. What’s your motive?

The fact that Bush did not investigate ACORN’s illegal activites is one more thing against him IMO.

McCain could win Michigan if he reversed his position on drilling and said how many jobs it could provide...union jobs and the like...oil, gas, rigs, piping, etc.

“The money would be better spent in PA, which is very winnible.”

Possible but not likely- the RCP average of Pennsylvania polls show Obama by 7.9%:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/epolls/2008/president/pa/pennsylvania_mccain_vs_obama-244.html

However, Bush didn’t win Penn. so McCain doesn’t need to either. What we do need to do is hold serve in the big 3 states Bush carried: Ohio, Florida and Virginia. Hopefully, we can pick up New Hampshire, a Kerry state.

Doing all that would get us past the early part of election night in decent shape, with Iowa being the only Bush state that Obama picked up. Then we head out west with Colorado and Nevada deciding the election. If we lose any of Ohio, Florida or Virginia, it will be hard to recover.

Do not know why McCain cannot see the 'war' for the soul of our Country is at hand.

It demands as much Fortitude - and comittment, as our war against terrorism.

Bush suffered the same 'blind-eye' malaise; when it came to dealing with our enemies on the Left - here at home.

We’ve obviously got a lot of idiots in this state. I’m continually amazed at otherwise smart people who support Obama, but can’t articulate why.

Check this troll's history, it is always their first instinct. It's as if they're an Obama peon. They don't do enough damage to be a big gun, so they're a small loose cannon irritant, but they are irritating, like a fly.

“The money would be better spent in PA, which is very winnable.”

Agreed! Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Florida are the ones to spend big money on.
