The media spun it as "pulling out of Michigan" to deflate the enthusiasm of the Michigan volunteers. Suddenly Michigan voters and McCain volunteers felt as if the campaign was giving up on them. That was a terrible message to send. The McCain people probably didn't intend it to come across that way, which is why they are now trying to back pedal on this with Palin promising to come to Michigan with her husband.

I really wonder about the people McCain has working for him. They need some of those Texas sharks that Rove employed. It's no coincidence that the only two states famous for their crooked political machines and stolen elections is Texas and Illinois. Those were the two states that put JFK over the top in 1960. It'll take some Texan thugs to offset Obama's Chicago thugs. Nice guys will finish last.

Campaign finance reform coming back to bite hard.

Seems like $85 million dollars from the government (us) ain't enough for McCain to be competitive in many states where Obama is having no problem at all with financing his campaign.
