Fox and Friends/Luntz Recap (for those who missed it)
Fox and Friends ^ | 10/3/08 | self

Posted on 10/03/2008 3:54:40 AM PDT by LS

For those who missed it, or who didn't follow all the post-debate activities, Frank Luntz had his infamous "focus group" of "undecided" (usually liberal) voters (although one guy used to be a Huckabee supporter. They substantially went for Obama in the presidential debate.

That’s exactly what I was thinking last night!!

Sarah Palin didn’t bend herself to the voters, she presented her case why the voters should bend to HER and she did it well. Most people agree with conservative principles (other than a few odds and ends) fundamentally when they are presented they way they are instead of the way Liberals want them portrayed.

Fox&Friends@foxnews.com -—email that Palin Won.

Let these people know that Palin won that debate, it is crazy that two male guests are allowing Biden to be taunted as having been more substance than Palin. The three hosts aren’t even giving it to her, it’s crazy how many News people even on Fox are unwilling to let Sarah have the Win that even their own polls last night at 80%-20% said.

How great was it to see Bill O'Reilly call Barney Frank a "coward" and say "YOU are responsible for this mess?"

Palin acknowledged climate change but did not agree that it was human caused. I can agree with that - I am 50 years old and have lived in Oregon for 48 of them, and can tell you the weather patterns here are not the same as they used to be. She said the same of Alaska, particularly the Arctic zone. That arctic conditions are not as stable and predictable as they were 30 years ago is something that may or may not be a bad thing, but it is the truth.

The only thing those people on CNN were undecided about was how many times they would vote on Nov.4th.

I didn't watch the CNN "undecided voter" comments, but I did switch over to CNN right after the debate concluded to see the reaction of their pundits. It looked like they were all headed to a funeral.....

ALL said Palin was qualified.

That is inaccurate. (I realize this is a quote from FOX, not you, LS.) There was a young woman in the back wearing a lavender sweater who was shaking her head "No" and then voiced it. There was also a young black man in the back left who didn't raise his hand at the question.

Well, I guess that shoots McCain’s theory that you can’t win with conservative principles.

McCain refuses to acknowledge that fact. The only part of last night's debate that I was VERY disappointed with Palin about was that she, like McCain, kept referring to Wall Street as the villian in the Fannie Mae debacle.

I'm beginning to get very suspicious as to just why in the hell McCain will not blame the democrats that refused time and time again to allow regulatory oversight of Fannie/Freddie. It flat out doesn't make sense for him to continue letting them get away with it. Americans are PISSED and this is a red meat & winning issue for him, but he will not go for the easy touchdown.... Why?

McCain had the perfect opportunity to let Palin be the attack dog and go after the dems and I was devestatingly disappointed that she didn't. I want these crooked dems to get blamed BECAUSE NONE OF THIS WOULD HAVE HAPPENED WERE IT NOT FOR THEM! For McCain to continue giving them a pass makes no sense and I'm beginning to conclude that some kind of blackmail is involved.... seriously!

Luntz said to watch the polls in the next 48 hours. He implied that there most definitely should be a trend away from Obama from what he saw.

LS yesterday you said McCain has already lost the election.

Hard to read your posts after that .

Not sure why you think he uses libs. Luntz uses a very valid scientific approach, forcing his “undecided” panelists to declare whether they lean left or right. It is a brilliant concept and solid survey science. I’d rather watch five minutes of his response data analysis than the worthless hours of talking heads armed only with their opinions. If McCain would listen to what Luntz reveals about what the voters respond to and use it he would win this election walking away.

I know what you mean. Sarah’s hands were tied about that issue, because she has to support the “boss”. I can almost guarantee she knows precisely what the problem is with ACORN, Fannie, Freddie, etc.

The two “journalists” Brian Kilmeade was interviewing about the debate last night kept referring to the “economic mess the Republicans have gotten us into” and I almost threw the remote through the screen of my hubby’s big screen.

Of course, Kilmeade, being the tool he is, didn’t even challenge them. (By the way, these intelligentsia said Biden won.) May they were watching reruns of SNL.

She should have made it more clear and also mentioned the coldest summer they ever recorded. Which was this year.

I noticed the immediate talkingpoint at some of the other left-leaning networks was “she was well-rehearsed”.

One commentator/reporter showed surprise at Palin’s ‘being able to memorize all that info in such a short time’.

==

It is a shame that it takes Palin to re-energize the McCain campaign. Can she pull him across the finish line? Or will the McCain campaign again shrivel during the last 30-some days?

Palin re-energized the faltering campaign at the Convention. Palin re-energized the again-faltering campaign in the VP debate.
What venue is available during the waning days of the election cycle for her pull McCain across the finish line? Maybe, McCain should buy a couple of hours of evening TV time on all networks a couple of days before the election -- and turn them over to Palin.

......so you know Palin hit it out of the ballpark.

IMHO, Palen came off as genuine and down to earth. Biden, otoh, routinely strayed off "into the weeds" with his Senate speak and rambling answers. I could almost hear the eyes glazing over in America as he rambled on. Although I was hoping for a real "Biden moment" that never came, I think Binden lost a lot "fence sitters" last night because of the way he answered numerous questions........

I don't know where CNN got their focus group, but even my Democrat wife said they were a bunch of dullards. Solidad O’Brian’s flippant counting of hands saying Biden was the obvious winner was pathetic.

Because the DemoBushes are McCain's buddies that he "reaches across the aisle" to when he wants something passed that is unpalatable to conservatives. McCain is smart enough to know that you don't bite the hand that feeds you . . . . . and the DemoBushes have fed him quite well.
