Abraham Lincoln said, "You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time."
Unfortunately, the future of this country, as well as the fate of the Western world, depends on how many people can be fooled on election day, just a few weeks from now.
Right now, the polls indicate that a whole lot of the people are being fooled a whole lot of the time.
The current financial bailout crisis has propelled Barack Obama back into a substantial lead over John McCain-- which is astonishing in view of which man and which party has had the most to do with bringing on this crisis.
It raises the question: Do facts matter? Or is Obama's rhetoric and the media's spin enough to make facts irrelevant?
Agreed and lets hope it doesn’t take electing BO to inflict that pain, it could take an extremely long time to recover.
You're not going to like this - but Obama's plan is to give "tax reduction" to people who never paid taxes. Yep, think "welfare", handout, gift, boondoggle...
In short, everyone gets a check - if they paid a dime into the system or not.
Now those people in the middle will get a check with one hand and the bill with the other. Someone has to pay for all his generosity and it's us... We get the bill. Well, you NoLilbZone get the bill.
The hope of the truth getting out so far has been email links of videos and newspaper articles from the 1990’s. A sad day for American and the press.
Every day the polls for McCain get worse. A Republican is the president and the fianacial crisis is being blamed on Republicans. How fortunate for Obama.
Am praying you’re right, Smooth. I’ll throw in with you, maybe what little brain power I’ve got will push us over the top.
I’m thinking maybe this turn in the polls lately towards BO could be a media induced hoax, stranger things have happened with the enemedia.
LOL! That’s a great graphic! Being the lady she is I noticed she said please. :)
“Do Facts Matter”
Not any longer
Just saw this:

What do you think, worth a thread tomorrow if nothing else pops up?
Looks like it would make a good thread to me. He hits the Trib-Dem pretty hard and rightfully so. Being Saturday it’s doubtful anything would come up.
You think just a Murtha and Haditha ping or Russell too?
No, because he's always off in his own little excentric "maverick" world, looking out through his distorted little glass belly button!!!
It will be a God granted MIRACLE if he is elected President!!!
Then, when he is, he'll be insufferable as Schwartzenegger has been with his worship of Al Gore and the Coumo kid and all the rest of the Demonicrats, appointing them to his cabinet and other positions of power while passing on conservative Republicans!!!
Damn we’re screwed...
If we do it, might as well do all three. As you say, it’s the weekend. I figure we hold back and see if something else pops up. If not, we go for it with this. It’s a blog site technically, but the mods might let it slide.
Now, Now, boys. No need to get all worked up. After all, McCain could croak as Pres. and then Sarah gets the job. On the other hand, if Obama gets the job and croaks, Biden gets the job. Buck up, lads, let’s get this done.
I’m off, brother. Tomorrow there be more dragons.
I don’t know what you’re smoking, but I’d like a hit of it. I hope you are correct!!!
I can only assume that she is following McCain's lead. McCain is a self-hating Republican who does not really believe in Reaganomics, aka tax cuts for the rich.
McCain has one last chance in the coming debates. He can tell the truth, explain some simple economics to the American people, and stand up for economic growth policies, and still possibly win. If he doesn't do that, even if he wins, his mandate will be for more big government interference in capital markets, which will doom his presidency.
As the always clear Prof. Sowell puts it, facts matter. Greed did create this crisis, but it was the greed of congressmen.
Facts, and truth, don't matter to Democrats and the media, except in the service of power.
To this crowd, tax cuts to the rich are expenditures, expenditures to the poor are tax cuts, government spending programs are investments, and private investments are lost revenue.
Cooperating with warmongering dictators is being peaceful, standing up to them is being belligerent. Trapping kids in disfunctional schools is supporting education, and giving them money for better private schooling is undermining education. Treating minorities differently is equality, treating everyone the same is bigotry. Wishing success for the troops is imperialistic, wishing them failure is patriotic.
Sorry for ranting. I could fill a page with these. Modern Democrats positions aren't just unfactual, they are anti-factual.
Thomas Sowell is such a great analyst that it is presumptuous to criticize him, generally. But on the issue of "bias in the media," I have to say that my The Right to Know thread is (in my humble opinion) more illuminating than any article which merely gives one or two examples of "bias in the media" does not attempt any analysis of the causes of that pervasive phenomenon.
The Libs were short and to the point when they modified Lincoln's truism in their take on this old saw.
"All people are fools!"
