A lawyer for the Republican National Committee today said the party will ask the Federal Election Commission to look into the source of thousands of small-dollar contributions to the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama.
The RNC is alleging that the Obama campaign was so hungry for donations it "looked the other way" as contributions piled up from suspicious, and possibly even illegal foreign donors.
"We believe that the American people should know first and foremost if foreign money is pouring into a presidential election," said RNC Chief Counsel Sean Cairncross.
Cairncross alleged there was mounting evidence of this, and cited an Oct. 4 report in Newsweek that documents a handful of instances where donors made repeated small donations using fake names, such as "Good Will" and "Doodad Pro."

While blaming McCain and the Republicans for their timing seems to be the cool thing to do around here, I’m of the opinion if there’s one thing McCain knows how to do it’s play this game. Personally, I despise the game, but I believe McCain knows what he’s doing. I think there’s even plenty more where this came from.

It will create an unfavorable look on 0bama and equally important, it will show the disgrace of the MSM as they completely loose their composure trying to protect Hussein. 0bama....
I don't think the American public really cares that much about campaign contributions and where they come from. It polls way down the list of important issues
Unless the RNC can show DIRECT MONETARY foreign contributions, which I doubt they can, it's all pretty much a moot point at this juncture in the race, that's why I said it was 6 months too late

True enough....I guess its easier to sit back and criticize, but golly....Obama is in the process of spending those millions while the "investigation" is underway.
Just like Gov Palin said at the debate, it is the one time that she got to speak directly to the American people without being filtered.
They know what they have to do and it should be fun to watch.

I need to thank you, immensely, for posting this. I had not seen it! Neither had Pamela Geller and she’s the one who initially prompted all the research into Obama’s campaign donations.
I can’t say what is happening or what will happen.
I must trust that they are shaping the battle and hope that they will at the proper place and time release concentrated, powerful and debilitating force.

Obama says “no more politics as usual” which I can only assume to mean having no problem with accepting money from terrorists, and foreigners!
