I don't know how a student in America in the mid-eighties can travel to Pakistan at a time when such travel was forbidden by the State DepartmentSimply not true. In fact, our relations with Pakistan in the 1980s were probably as close as they've ever been, what with them being our conduit to the mujahaddin in Afghanistan.
