Sarah Palin: Barack Obama "Absolutely Atrocious" by Supporting Unlimited Abortion

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- With debate moderators not asking any questions of the candidates on abortion, pro-life advocates have been hoping John McCain and Sarah Palin would criticize Barack Obama's pro-abortion record. In a national radio interview on Thursday, Palin did just that and called Obama's record "atrocious."

During an interview with nationally syndicated radio talk show host Laura Ingraham, Palin described Obama's view that abortions should be legal for any reason throughout pregnancy “absolutely atrocious."

Palin heavily criticized Obama's votes in the Illinois legislature against the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, a bill that would require hospital staff to provide medical care for infants who survive failed abortions.

“His position on this and on life has been his vote against legislation--three times voting against legislation that would provide medical care to a baby born having been a survivor of an abortion," the Alaska governor said.

Palin went back to the issue of abortion later in the interview and continued criticizing Obama for the votes on the anti-infanticide bill and also tagged him for opposing a ban on partial-birth abortions.

“It's appalling enough I think even for those who are pro-abortion to understand that Barack Obama opposes banning partial-birth abortion because that's quite extreme," Palin explained. "But for him to have had an opportunity to vote to allow a child born as a result of a botched abortion to receive the medical care that he or she deserves, born with that inalienable right to life."

"And yet he has sided on the wrong side three times -- voting against legislation that would provide that medical care to the baby, that is the extreme position on abortion and Americans need to know that," Palin concluded.

Palin has become a darling of the pro-life community for not just saying she is pro-life, but living out her views.

She gave birth earlier this year to a Down syndrome baby, named Trig, despite statistics showing 90 percent of babies with the condition become victims of abortion.

Very true, this goes WAY BEYOND the normal "pro choice" position.

At least one candidate on the Republican ticket is willing to tell it like it is. Now if only McCain would follow her example.

Down's children are just as deserving of love and nurture as "normal" children and can grow up to be constructive citizens. Their wholesale extermination by the abortion industry and uncaring parents is absolutely appalling.

In many more ways than just this issue.

The results of this Presidential election will prove whether this is still a Christian nation. Most polls generally indicate that 70 to 80% of the people say they are Christians. If true, then there is no way Obama could be elected our President. A Bible believing, committed Christian and true follower of Jesus Christ would find it impossible to vote for the person, Obama.

It will be an honor and a privilege to vote for Governor Palin.

I do not believe that any normal American could knowingly vote for a man who has espoused infanticide, as did Senator "Coke-head" Obama.

The McCain campaign should make Senator Obama's murderous position a campaign issue.

I am glad you made this statement. I have a theory about the liberals hatred for Sarah Palin. I don’t think it is because she did not have an abortion. I think it is because she is glad to have had Trig.

I think they hate her because she has found that something good in having Trig, and that drives them nuts.
