“Amazing that the idiots in Alaska would want to jeopardize the possibility of one of their own as Vice President of the United States.
Do you know what that would do for Alaska?

Fools.”

Not only that but you would think if they hate her so much they would want her in DC and out of thier hair.

She beat an incumbent Rep. Gov, forced the state GOP chair out of power and killed pet projects in the senate for the sake of the budget. People on both sides hate her there. We need her here.

The people of Alaska probably loved every minute of her rooting out the corrupt fools but now thier buddies want payback. It sucks. And frankly makes me think the people will never truly control this country ever again.

MSNBC didn’t ignore it. The talking head was interviewing some reporter that “just got the papers”.

“So, what does it say in them Jim?”

“Well, its long, I just got them, but they conclude that she abused her powers as Governor.”

“So she broke the law, eh Jim?”

“Well, ah, it... Yeah, I guess so”

(Banner begins to scroll right then: Palin Broke Law)

“And this was a bi-partisan panel, right Jim?”

“Yes, Republicans and Democrats....”

People [in power] on both sides hate her there.

I think that is what you meant?

“ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Sarah Palin unlawfully abused her power as governor by trying to have her former brother-in-law fired as a state trooper, the chief investigator of an Alaska legislative panel concluded Friday. The politically charged inquiry imperiled her reputation as a reformer on John McCain’s Republican ticket.

Investigator Stephen Branchflower, in a report to a bipartisan panel that looked into the matter, found Palin in violation of a state ethics law that prohibits public officials from using their office for personal gain.”

Let me get this straight: AP says a “legislative panel” concluded she abused her power. But if you read the story it actually says Branchflower wrote the report and presented it to the panel. The question remains: Did the entire panel agree with Branchflower’s findings or not? If not, then the reporting is very misleading.

The investigation was already under way when she was named VP nominee.

Could you please tell us exactly where you found these “conclusion” remarks. Thanks.

Key sentence in the AP story, which appears halfway down ....”The panel did not vote on whether to endorse its findings.”

Enough said. In other words, the panel did not endorse Branchflower’s conclusions. How interesting.

I know.

It was a simple personnel issue then, until a bunch of men got together and decided they were going to ruin Alaska's reputation by taking their inside squabbles national, and taking out the girl.

How embarrassing for them. Were I a national candidate, I would never pick another pol from Alaska again. Idiots.

Do you know what that would do for Alaska?

Get all its goodies cancelled. After the "for the Bridge To Nowhere before she was against it" imbroglio, she'd have to be purer than pure as far as pork and earmarks are concerned.

Na, I wasn't talking about pork.

It's all about prestige, pride, some extra tourism and such.

A different interpretation of the report:

“Alaska politicians believe that State Troopers are exempt from law and may act like rogue cops with impunity. If is improper for any state official (including the Governor) to try to remove a State Trooper for acts such as tazing a child (in violation of state policy), for threatening to kill someone, for killing a moose without proper license, and for operating a State Police vehicle after drinking alcoholic beverages. This finding is why we find the Governor was in error to try and have the trooper punished.”

Sounds like the Democrats are more supportive of wife-beaters and rogue cops. Besides, it is a proven fact that married women are more likely to vote Republican, so who cares what happens to them.

This should be pushed HARD!

"Also noteworthy in this article is its timing...late on a Friday afternoon."

If you will recall, the Clinton Admin traditionally dumped all their bad news out on a Friday. It is when people are not paying as much attention, with the weekend coming on.

There is no story here, no laws were broken and the entire investigation was politically motivated. Monegan even submitted a letter to his people when he left the job and ADMITTED he was on the wrong side of the Palin Admin policies, precisely why Palin said he was fired.
