WOW! I didn't know John F. Kennedy was married prior to Jackie, but there it is in a newspaper clipping on the web of deception site. That guy sure is a sleuth!

In the defense of JFK, he did believe in the US taking an active role to fight tyranny and communism, even vowing to pay any price and bear any burden in the attempt plus he realized that lowering the highest marginal tax rates would increase tax revenues.

Plus, he boinked Marilyn Monroe, and how cool is that?

I know the Desloge family in St. Louis.

In fact, there is a hospital named Firmin Desloge which still exists.

Wonder if Firmin Deslodge IV is any relation?

They are quite well do to. I believe Ted Desloge is still alive and living in the St. Louis area. I am sure they have a family tree and would know of the marriage and who the woman was and why the divorce.

He and his brother (RFK) were also a big anticommunists.

Also, I believe in James Schlesinger's book “RFK”. He states that Senator Joe McCarthy (Tail-gunner Joe) was RFK’s two oldest kids Godfather.

RFK worked for Senator McCarthy on his first big communist case.

YES! The Kennedy's were BUDS with the hated Senator Joe McCarthy.

You’re combining two women

The first was named Dorie Malcolm. From all accounts, JFK married her on a drunken whim. When his dad found out, he hit the roof and had his men break into the County Records office to find and destroy all written records of it.

The second was Inga Arvad, a beautiful Danish journalist. Before PT-109, JFK served in Naval Intelligence in Washington, D.C., and met her when she was assigned there. J. Edgar Hoover suspected she was a Nazi spy, and had his agents follow them around and wiretap them.

JFK’s relationship with Arvad got him reassigned to a PT Boat squadron, and the rest is history

You might be correct. I thought he had married the “spy”.

Do you remember the name of the woman that was carrying money from the White House to Giacomo(sp?). For the election that was rigged in Chicago. History repeats?

The pictures I remember seeing of her made Marilyn look almost average.

JFK- most overrated president of all time imo.

You might not realize how close the we were to having an all out nuclear exchange with the Soviets in '62.

In fact, most didn't realize until much later how close were were to a cataclysmic nuclear war that during the conflict. One such incident occurred when dropped depth-charges on top of a Soviet submarine armed with nuclear missiles. I am confident, only luck prevented an all out nuclear war during the missile crisis.

What ever you think of Kennedy, he was CIC at the time, arguably during the most dangerous event in American/world history. Through his actions during this standoff, he might have very well helped avoid an all out nuclear war. I base this on the fact that no nuclear war occurred.

Yes, it is the same family. Firmin Vincent Desloge IV was born in St. Louis on Nov 22, 1909 (coincidence?) and married Durie Malcolm in 1939 in Palm Beach, Florida. His great grandfather was Firmin Rene Desloge, born Nantes, France on Feb 17, 1803. He was a lead miner and married in Washington County, Missouri in 1832.

According to passenger records of the SS Nieuw Amsterdam, Durie was born in New York City on Dec 30, 1917. Firmin and Durie were living at 625 S. Skinner Blvd, St. Louis. They were traveling from Boulogne Sur Mer, France on Aug 25, 1939 arriving in New York on Sep 1, 1939.

There is also a book titled, “The Desloge Family In America, A Genealogy” written by Lucie Furstenberg Huger.

Actually, her name was Durie, not Dorie Malcolm. This is old news-it surfaced before Kennedy’s election when it was found in an obscure genealogy book written by an elderly Malcolm relative in the 50s. Clark Clifford, Kennedy’s lawyer wrote about it in his autobio. He got it covered up, although he doesn’t say it that way—he says that the old guy who wrote it was “confused”. Yeah right. The passage in the book even mentioned JFK as the son of Ambassador Kennedy.

As far as JFK is concerned-here’s the money stat: 900 military in Nam when he took power in Jan 1961 and 17, 000 in country the day he died in Nov 1963 (Of course his boy LBJ made it 185,000 in 1965 and 550,000 by 1968)

"Through his actions during this standoff, he might have very well helped avoid an all out nuclear war."

I believe that it was his actions prior to the standoff that nearly caused nuclear war. He was a naive young senator who was suddenly thrust into the presidency (sound familiar?). He failed to act decisively during the Bay of Pigs invasion, which cost numerous lives of US supporters. Khrushchev knew he could be rolled. It was only luck, and a strong military (a legacy of Eisenhower) that prevented nuclear war.

Didn't omit anything. That fact is well known regarding the Turkish missiles, and was part of the process or negotiations during the standoff.

Being on the verge of all out nuclear war, would you have preferred the alternative?

If I had an RPG mounted on your front lawn pointed at your home, and you had one pointed at mine, would you not negotiate that both be removed?

I believe that it was his actions prior to the standoff that nearly caused nuclear war.

You could be right.

However, it was Eisenhower that decided to use the CIA to overthrow Castro, and the CIA sucked up a lot of bad intel. Much of the intelligence received stated that if a CIA backed invasion occurred, the Cuban population would support it and back it up.

Just the opposite occurred.

In addition, Castro knew of the invasion before hand due Cubans the CIA was training in Florida, in addition, reports of a pending invasion were being broadcast within the US and foreign media sources.

Mistakes were made by Kennedy, the CIA and the Cubans we were training, however, the fact remains, all out nuclear war was avoided after the failed invasion, during the Cuban missile crisis.

Once again, the fact is these events were probably the most dangerous America and the world ever faced. The other fact is, nuclear war was avoided.

Looking back, I am confident most would consider avoiding a nuclear war as a good thing.

Another fact is, when you covertly go into foreign countries, with the motive of overthrowing their countries, you must be fully prepared for things to go southbound. It's a very risky business.

Thanks for the information.

From some of the FR posts it seemed like the JFK/Desloge marriage was done in a drunken stupors.

Interesting that the Desloge and Kennedy families were both strong Catholics. I believe Desloge still supports St. Louis University.

Haven't read the book, but I suspect between the two families pressure and money was put on the Catholic Church to annul the marriage.
