A a garage door repairman the alternative to full time employees is doing as much of the work yourself and hiring sub contractors, which most customers don't like to see. They tend to want employees working exclusively for the company they called.

I believe the $250K not "gross" income but is net "taxable" income (e.g. $250K after all the expenses and deductions for U.I., workmans comp and "other things that a business has to deal with").

Totally clueless. Obama wants to raise the taxes on small companies that make over $250K. If he does that, these small companies will never have the money to hire additional people. He will cut off small business.

My point is that being “employed” and being a “small business owner” are two different animals. It’s Joe the Plumber’s tax receipts that keep Joe the Cop working.
