LONDONDERRY, N.H. - Democrat Barack Obama opened the final leg of the presidential campaign by returning to a familiar strategy on Thursday: Linking Republican opponent John McCain to the unpopular incumbent.
Obama said McCain was trying to obscure the issue in their final debate Wednesday when he pointed out that President Bush will not be on the ballot next month.

Seems to me that Obama is behaving like a man who is on the defensive and who knows that he was hurt in the debate last night.
bad bad strategery!
:)
seriously though, it is a bit tired and McCain stomped it last nite.
The response is so easy, it’s almost childish.
“6 years of the most robust economy the US has ever known, and 2 years of Democrat control of congress”
Linking McCain to Bush is his whole campaign.
It’s all he has and he will really get desperate as this issue is neutralized thanks to McCain’s one liner about it last night..
In spite of the recession starting with the tech bubble bursting in 2000 and 9-11.
Question: Wasn’t the economy doing pretty well under Bush and tax cutting policies until the Democrats took over congress?
I thought it was the housing market (Democrats’ Fannie/Freddie fault) and gas prices (again, Democrats’ mission to ‘save the planet’ instead of drill) that resulted in what we have today.
Granted, Bush let spending get WAY out of control, but did not the Bush tax cuts help the economy at the time??
The “McBush” routine again, huh?
Wow.
You’re right. Obama is out of ammo and will just have to keep repeating uh uh uh ... Bush ... uh uh uh ... failed economic policies ... uh uh uh ... racists ... uh uh uh for the next almost 3 weeks. However, every day more and more negative information about Obama is being exposed. Most people don’t know that there are at least 2 (possibly 3) lawsuits against him to merely show is legitimate birth certificate. The ACORN investigations are picking up steam. The question about Ayers got out there. Odinga and Kenya is looming in the backgroun.
It’s quite amusing really. And what’s fascinating to watch is that instead of dropping it, he continues to use George Bush as the boogeyman.
Wow. Guess the Clintons must’ve stolen most of the chapters out of his copy of the Democrat Playbook and left only Chapter 665: George Walker Bush.
To think that George W. Bush only had to contend with a DUI story the week before the election in 2000.
Obama thought he had it in the bag, but I’m sure their own internals are now showing that it’s real close. If he had anything new to fire at McCain, he would use it instead of going back to the McCain = Bush argument. McCain slapped him down last night when he tried to pull that garbage. I guess Obama needs to stop planning his big celebration party and work a little harder on his campaign.
That’s all he’s got, folks. He’s got NOTHIN’! Can I say his campaign has “petered out” and not get the boot?
“this issue is neutralized thanks to McCains one liner about it last night.”
Agreed. This was huge for Mac and unexpected by BO. At least one of the FOX panel should have had the guts to say so. They’re on a downhill slide and quickly losing any credibility that remains.
Obama’s accusation that McCain sought to “obscure” the issue by pointing out Bush is not on the ballot - was that a self parody by Obama?
Really?
And just how many government buildings did Bush try to blow up?
“And just how many government buildings did Bush try to blow up?”
Nice touch......

Wow, I guess this Obama’s defense against getting destroyed last night in the debate and the Joe the Plumber.
Pretty weak but I hope he continues the strategy.
