Sarkozy calls Obama Iran stance 'immature'

It looks as if some of the messiah's Euro-buddies aren't all that impressed with The One's foreign policy.

From Ha'aretz:

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is very critical of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama's positions on Iran, according to reports that have reached Israel's government.

Sarkozy has made his criticisms only in closed forums in France. But according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate's stance on Iran as "utterly immature" and comprised of "formulations empty of all content."

Obama visited Paris in July, and the Iranian issue was at the heart of his meeting with Sarkozy. At a joint press conference afterward, Obama urged Iran to accept the West's proposal on its nuclear program, saying that Iran was creating a serious situation that endangered both Israel and the West. According to the reports reaching Israel, Sarkozy told Obama at that meeting that if the new American president elected in November changed his country's policy toward Iran, that would be "very problematic."

Until now, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany have tried to maintain a united front on Iran. But according to the senior Israeli source, Sarkozy fears that Obama might "arrogantly" ignore the other members of this front and open a direct dialogue with Iran without preconditions.

Even under Chirac, France has always been more aggressive in its desire for the west to confront Iran over its nuclear program. But perhaps Sarkozy has sensed something about Obama that much of our electorate has failed to see - a certain squishiness and moral relativism that could end up being extraordinarily dangerous if an adversary gets the wrong idea.

Anyway, it's good to see that no all the Euro-elites were taken in by Obama. At least Sarkozy has his eyes open and mind clear when it comes to trusting The One to do the right thing on Iran.

Okay, I thought Sarkozy was in love with Obama like everyone else. Is he scared Obama might actually win?

Sarky must have heard the reports that if Obama ran in his country, he’d win.

looks like he's worried that IF he wins, he'll screw Europe and allow US to be manipulated by that wacko in Iran.

Watch when it gets out to the public, Sarkozy gets accused of racism for daring to criticize Obama.

What Sarkozy sees is what we have already been given a taste of by Biden: the contention that when Obama is tested, within the first six months of his Administration, his response to crisis (what, another bombing?) won’t at first seem right, or adequate.....(but give it time, you’ll get used to the look of the white flag of surrender waving over the White House.)I am SURE Biden was hypothesizing that Obama will immediately rush to the probably non-existent ‘negotiating table’ when 4 bombs go off in our subways or on our bridges. This is perhaps the spookiest thing about the ObamaBiden ticket.

I’m not sure that “immature” is the right word for Obama’s relations with Iran.

According to that piece in Forbes yesterday that was quickly removed and tossed down the memory hole, the Iranian Mullahs think that there’s a good chance that Obama is the prophesied forerunner to the Mahdi himself. (Or as we might put it, he’s not the Antichrist, but the forerunner, something like a Muslim John the antiBaptist.)

So, if Obama is elected, I suspect that relations with Iran could get very interesting.
