"...Because all that anyone knows for certain about Barack Obama - the only thing anyone knows for certain - is that he is not what he seems. What we do know, because we have the performances on tape is that he is the most seamless liar since Bill himself - smoother by far. Who is the real Barack Obama? Who can tell? We don't really know anything about this man's intentions, and what we do know about his deeds is bad..."

Funny how now, 4 days before the election, the multitude of negative press and negative stories coming out about Zero. Where were these early on?
That's easy! He's the first black Bill Clinton!!!
Not so strange at all, really. I remember when, within days of the '92 election, PBS ran a one of the most objective pieces on Bill Clinton I saw during that campaign. It was all there: his habit of selling his (mainly liberal) friends and their "ideals" down the river when it was politically expedient to do so; his desire to be all things to all people; his womanizing and his other ethical lapsing. Of course, it was too late to have an impact on the outcome of the election, but it could be said that, albeit at the Eleventh Hour, PBS had done a critical appraisal of the original Man from HOPE.
I’m not sure why Palin - more accurately, her religion - sends Hitchens off into a psychotic rage. I’d think he’d find Rev. Wright infinitely more troubling. And in any case, McCain is at the top of the ticket. Hitchens should agree with his foreign policy views.
But then I’m expecting too much from Hitchens, looking for some consistency and common sense.
We always vote on social issues first: do you want a country with abortion and late term abortion freely available everywhere? Second comes national security. Then economic issues.
On economic issues, the Barack plan is crazy. Tax the top earners, and give it to millions of people who pay no federal income tax as it is.
I’d call it lunatic, but I might have to apologize to the loonies.
Unfortunately Hitchens’ rabid hatred of anything Christian has clouded his brilliant mind and reasoning. At this point, I don’t think there’s any hope for him. He’s gone off into bizzaro land and will die a foaming at the mouth, hateful man. It’s a shame.
