What's up with Fox News? Somethings amiss. They are going soft!

Posted on 11/02/2008 9:04:12 PM PST by rfmad

Starting about 3 weeks ago it seems Fox has started moving ever so slightly to the left. I don't know if they are afraid of the Fairness Doctrine or what but, other than Hannity, they all seemed resigned to Obama winning. Even Britt Hume's crowd has gone soft. I'm mad as hell about it! Anyone else notice this?

I couldn’t stomach Brit’s show tonight. Thank God for Sean Hannity.

Every time I see Combes all I can think is “I hate that little weasel” and my mind gets stuck.

I once read or heard someone call Combes "Grasshopper Boy." Since then, I have always thought of him as a grasshopper, because he kind of looks like one.

I only watch Fox because it’s the only non in-your-face-in-the-tank-for-Obama network. They are indeed shifting Left, probably because they don’t like being called right-wing, even though they never have been right-wing. Obama hates Fox, and apparently most people at Fox think he’ll win because they drank the Kool-Aid that is polling data 2008.

I noticed too and called family members to see if they were annoyed as well. Britt Hume, Bill Kristol ,Bill (my Obama interview) Reiley etc. I cannot recall entirely but it coincided with Rupert Murdoch making some big company decision - as their ratings are through the roof- Britt is retiring this year but come now- fair balanced and UNAFRAID???

I used to watch Brit every night. Now they cite a poll which has the largest Obama advantage and spend nearly the entire program pretending that it was the acutally election results and Obama won. Then they bring in the all-stars, and I watch Nina Easton interupting anyone who starts saying negative things about Obama. I eventually lost interest in the show.

I don’t think so. In the news sections I think they are just doing what they have always done, showing both sides. I watch it from 6am until 8pm so I see them all. When they do a poll they usually also mention one that is way different. They usually have both sides on and ask hard questions of both and try to get them off their talking points. As to the pundits, after how so many treated Sarah Palin, I ignore them. They are traitors, jealous and back biting idiots!

Now as to O’Reilly, if he says once more ‘Obama’ has been truthful in answering my questions, which implies McCain hasn’t since he has interviewed McCain before though not in this cycle, I’ll throw something at the TV. I thought the questions were more or less soft ball, his hitting him on Iraq surge was no big deal, that has been well known. I ignore Hannity and Colmes in this cycle, they are each on their side and just repeat the same darn things over and over. I like Greta, she’s done a very good job, IMHO

I have heard said that CNN seems to be further right than Fox the last several weeks. It is the same thing I have noticed as well. I am trying not to listen to any of them right now. I am getting almost all of my election news right here on the web or tuning into talk radio.

It’s a business playing for the interviews. Besides, they use Rasmussen and refer to Real Clear Politics. Scott Rasmussen is unethical because he projects winners and losers based on historic polling information. That is far beyond the scope for a pollster, and could negatively impact the eventual outcome.

Charles Krauthammer’s calling Obama “elegant” after Debate #3 was too much. I thought McCain won and these guys were making excuses for him. Since then, they have been Monday-morning quarterbacking the Obama victory. I never missed Hume’s panel but now I listen to easy listening and forensic shows. I haven’t watched Fox News (to which I was addicted 24/7, I even watched all their reruns) in three weeks.

Funny, I had the same reaction. Maher I find loathsome and had no desire to listen to. Dreyfus I also dislike a lot, but I was willing to hear what he had to say. I figured if Huckster was having him on his show in-studio, maybe he had something worth hearing.

But he sounded like a stoned guy thinking he was uttering great thoughts when he was really just contemplating his navel. Very strange.

Alas, this served to reinforce my assessment of Huckster. He so desperately wants to be considered hip and to have the mainstream media like him, that in the final analysis he'll never be a reliable conservative.

I'll believe otherwise when he “reaches out” to the Ann Coulters and Mark Levins instead of the Bill Mahers and Richard Dreyfuses.

I’m quite fond of “Skeletor”, myself.

It is almost as good as Rush’s highly apropos moniker for the little cowardly prick Harry Reid: “Dingy Harry”.

1- It’s a business strategy
2- They believe the polls.
3- Obama has a history of punishing negative media outlets by denying them access.
4- FNC needs access to future Obama administration officials to compete with the other media.
5- If McCain wins they lose nothing doing this.

And Murdock’s son who is running operations is a Lefty.

Fox is always soft on the weekends, they must have former network hacks writing the news and getting their guests.

Expect Fox News to crush Obama tomorrow, with the scoops that other networks ignore.

I have been disappointed with Fox since earlier this year. They had turned themselves into the “Hillary-butt kissing” network. Back during the primaries they would fawn all over Hillary and be very negative towards McCain. I remember watching primary results and Hannity, Rick Santorium and Pat Cadell would rave about how great PIAPS (Pig in a Pantsuit Hillary) was doing and be very critical of McCain. I wanted to wretch after I saw that.

I remember how Hannity would pummel McCain relentlessly on his show, before McCain actually won the primary.

Now that they have become more pro-McCain I can stand to watch them now but I have a long memory and I have kept some videotapes. I may put them on Youtube after the election.

If Ob gets in they are toast. They need to realize this and as Americans fight to keep him out.
