Electoral Math: For McCain, the Numbers Aren't Adding Up
Yahoo!/Time ^ | November 3, 2008 | MARK HALPERIN

Posted on 11/03/2008 5:25:21 AM PST by conservativeinbflo.

Barring an extraordinary shock, Barack Obama will win more than 270 electoral votes on Tuesday, giving him the White House. Hours before voting starts, John McCain has no clear path to reaching that same goal. In fact, based on interviews with political strategists in both parties, election analysts and advisers to both presidential campaigns - including a detailed look at public and private polling data - an Obama victory with well over 300 electoral votes is a more likely outcome than a McCain victory. Under the Electoral College system, a candidate wins all of a state's electoral votes as long as he or she achieves a popular vote victory of any margin. Obama's commanding position results from the fact that he holds seemingly impregnable popular vote leads in twenty-four states, plus the District of Columbia, with 291 electoral votes, more than he needs to win. Obama's geographic anchors are the northeast, the mid-Atlantic, the upper industrial Midwest and the west coast, all areas that Democratic presidential candidates have dominated for several election cycles. But he is encroaching on other states as well that have recently been gone dependably Republican, including Nevada, Virginia and Colorado.

We must remember America's enemies from this election. We must push for force full investigation of MSM political participation, funding and linkages.

Never forget.

MSNBC is going to go INSANE when obama starts filing court papers.

Remember obama is using the Odinga not the Rove master plan.

Democrats will push to delegitimize in order to obfuscate the transition.

Just like the Washington Post article posted earlier, these media clowns are trying to undo the damage they caused to their reputations and are now trying to appear objective. fair and balanced. They need us to continue supporting them with our “advertising” dollars. At least that way they will be around in 2012 to trash the next candidate we support. It’s no longer going to work for me. I won’t be forgetting what they did this election cycle. My money is my weapon.

just a caviat, don’t forget we were saying the same about dole polls.

Yes, and the polls then (Zogby excepted) showed Dole down by 22. He ended up losing by 8.

Is the media INTENTIONALLY creating these types of stories, so when OBAMA LOSES, blacks will riot or scream racism....a type of civil war? I wonder....

McCain - my prediction 304 Electoral votesMy kind of post.

I think the media has created nothing more that an illusion not only about the "aura" of the chosen one, but also his attraction of voters.

In all seriousness, can that many Americans be this naive?

I know, dangerous question but being that this is the last day before the we learn what this Countries fate is, I'm holding on with faith in the American people.

That settles it...

Now that I know that this useful idiot can’t see how MAC can win this thing, I am more confident than ever that my prediction now and that of months ago that MAC IS going to win and win big is a safe bet.

What BS. No way has Halperin gotten a complete analysis of the race. He is doing the usual pulling facts out of his ass. How could this guy discount the obvious gaffes by Obama and Biden that have definitely impacted the polls to make it favorable to McCain!!

What happened to Zogby last night? I haven’t seen his latest polls.

He is probably just waiting to see what everyone else does.

You know, all of this talk about how 0bama doesn’t win, black people will riot. I say that when McCain wins this thing, we should riot...but not in the streets like these maniac libs would...we should riot the MSM so bad they will never forget us. The Times, Washington Post, MSDNC, CNN, ABC, NBC, etc. Flood them with so many emails, phone calls, whatever it takes to scare them. Shove McCain’s win down their throats, give em hell as much as possible. Treat the MSM Obama media like Al-Qaeda terrorists, make them suffer and feel our wrath. Send the message that we are never going to allow this to happen again and this is the payback.

The purpose of this thread was to exemplify the utter bull-crap that we’ve been inundated with from all sides. Furthermore, it would be pathetic if this site were to only post stories that were favorable to us—only reading what we wanted to see or believe. Not only would we be living in a bubble, but we wouldn’t know what thought-process of those we oppose.

So lighten up. Although I do admit, I should have posted a BARF alert!

I agree, that’s why I come here, because I know I’ll be kept aware of what’s really happening, That has enabled me to delete CNN and all the rest from my “favorites”. I don’t want any surprises. My liberal associates go to only Left wing wacko sites and they may be in for the surprise of the century.

You know what I find funny. They are not mentioning AT ALL how horribly wrong these polls were in the primaries....they want us all to forget and take the polls as gospel.
