Actor Tim Robbins Stymied At Polls (celebutard)

Tim Robbins made a big stink at the YMCA on West 14th Street this morning when he was told that his name was not on the voter list. According to City Room, Robbins has been voting at the same polling place since 1997, but for some unknown reason, his name was nowhere to be found when he went in this morning. The Times happened upon him sitting in a folding chair looking dejected and annoyed: "The poll workers here know me...The woman said she remembered seeing me here for the primaries."

On Real Time with Bill Maher last month, Robbins seemingly foresaw his fate when he urged thwarted voters to "refuse provisional ballots. They’re throwing those out. They can throw those out. If that’s your last resort, take it, but fight in the polling place to vote. It’s your right as an American." And fight he did, even refusing to move at the behest of a poll worker who threatened to have an officer remove him. "Is this some kind of intimidation? I’m taking this as intimidation," the Tapeheads star reportedly remarked.

After filling out but not submitting an affidavit ballot, Robbins trooped down to the Board of Elections office at 200 Varick Street, where board officials verified that he was a registered voter and a Civil Court judge ruled that he must be allowed to vote. Apparently, at least 40 voters at his polling place had the same problem. Robbins told the the Times, "I have the time and luxury to do this. If this is a systemic thing, what does that mean for the country? Do the math on this one. It bears looking into that this might be a random elimination." His partner, Susan Sarandon, was able to vote without any problems.

“He can’t keep up with a little piece of paper?”

I had to use a provisional ballot today even though I brought my card with me showing that I was at the right place to vote. All told, it probably cost me 20 minutes to straighten things out, but all the while I was thinking—as the voting line grew ever longer—THIS is why we don’t want government running health care! Think about it: election officials literally have years to prepare for elections, yet no doubt these snafus affect millions of voters across the nation. Imagine their performance trying to run 1/6 of the economy where misplaced paperwork can put lives at risk.

Yet Tim Robbins was belly-aching about having lost some time in his efforts to put into the WH someone whose very aspiration is to crush all the barriers standing in the way of his preferred simplistic solution to the health care mess: a single payer system in which your fate literally could be placed in the hands of a government bureaucrat.

No, it's a funny joke; I just tried to make it funnier by implying he was the feminine of the two.

So, I FAIL. :)

It really does suck when this happens to people who have the right to vote and are trying to vote in the right place.

But I'm sure this idiot feels he was targeted by Bush/Cheney/Rove/Halliburton because he and his old lady old lady are such outspoken moonbat celebutards.

The fact of the matter is his problems are the result of incompetence in his local election board. And as always, this incompetence just happens to rear its ugly head in an area where the election board has been run for decades by Democratic clowns too busy trying to figure out how to skew the results than record the actual votes.

Damn! I told them to cross Sarandon’s name off of the list too! My secret voter intimidation ploy was only half successful.

What gets me is his “intimidation” rant. It’s embarrassing just to read it, it’s so stupid. I cannot believe a real person actually thinks like this..............

gee, you would think this dummy would realize that everything he believes about a benevolent government perfectly controlling every aspect of our lives is just a bunch of baloney. I can’t wait until he tries living with a national healthcare program in europe or canada when he leaves.

People in his financial circles believe they will never have to submit to rubbing elbows with the hoi polloi. They believe their wealth insulates them from any decisions that the government makes about the little people. He reacted, over reacted, to this situation like he was targeted as a victim. He never even considered it may have been incompetence by the government that handles such things. No, it must have been a right wing conspiracy................

Tapeheads? Although I love that movie for its off the wall zaniness, it is not Robbins' most recent movie and it was far from his most popular (I think it only was in theaters for one week before it went to video). I wonder why it was mentioned.

Perhaps, just perhaps, it was karma.

As irrelevant at the film was/is, so too is Mr. Sarandon "irrelevant".

Why ink was wasted on Mr. Sarandon, is the real mystery.

perhaps, Mrs. Sarandon had his voter card up on the shelf for safekeeping. Right next to Mr. Sarandon's gonads in a thimble.
