Los Angeles: Barack Obama has promised to increase taxes if he becomes president of the United States. But the really rich want change and many of them have said they are voting for the senator from Illinois. Despite the tradition that says the country's wealthy tend to favour the Republican Party, there has been an unexpected swing ahead of Tuesday's election that favours the black Democratic candidate.

For starters, the country's two richest men, Warren Buffett and Bill Gates, have already said they will vote for Obama. According to Forbes magazine, Gates - worth an estimated $55.5 billion - contributed $2,300 to the Democrat's campaign in the primaries.

I bet Golden Eagle is all fine and dandy with that teacher discipling that student for demonstrating Linux and handing out free Linux CDs at his school.

There is a clearing house for software and hardware donations to non-profit groups that my church has signed up for.

MS regularly has titles listed. Unfortunately, if your organization, though 501(c)3 verified, is in any way related to a church, you are ineligible for Microsoft software or other products.

Run a thrift shop for the poor - but tied to a church - too bad.

Provide food for the needy, but run though a church... too bad.

Provide medical mission trips to 3rd world countries - caring for thousands of children and adults around the world that would otherwise have no medical care... but are part of a denomination’s mission work... then you are out.

This is the Microsoft of Bill Gates. What a legacy.

Non-profit that provides abortions - you are ok for MS donations.

Non-profit that advocates for homosexuals - you are ok.

Gates contributing to Obama is despicable indeed, but he gave to Bush the 2 elections before that. Maybe he’s just finally coming fully out of the closet, but he’s still nowhere near as far left as those green party anti-capitalists like Stallman (”father of free software”) you support.
