Turns out that Mitt was just echoing the party line that McCain put out not to call Obama a socialist. The jury is still out on the staffers because there a lot of conflicting reports. So while I won’t call him Mittens any more, it’s still Palin 2012 or bust.
I agree. She’d be wasting her time in Congress. Stick with the governorship until 2012.
I personally think she should go back to governing the state she loves. She’s way too good for the likes of Washington.
She is an arrogant women whose ambition trumps all else even her own child, she wasn’t crying for you, don’t worry and wake up.
If we want Sarah to make a good presidential run in 12 she needs to stay where she is. Historically governors have a much better shat at the presidency than senators. This year things got a skewed because almost everybody that ran was a current or former senator, but normally the Senate is not a stepping stone to the White House.

A governor in Minnesota did that back in the 1970s. When Mondale resigned to be Carter's VP, Wendell Anderson resigned as Governor, and then the Lt. Governor Rudy Perpich succeeded him.
Perpich then appointed Anderson to the Senator's seat. In the subsequent election, Republicans swept both Senate Seats and the Governor's office. It's still known as the "Minnesota Massacre".
I think that Alaska requires a special election, after Murkowski appointed his daughter to a vacancy. And you know how that worked out for him.
Sarah might do well in the special election, but I suspect she would rather stay in Alaska.

Sarah is going to destroy the party if she gets the nomination because there will be a major third party revolt. Also, expect lots of cross over votes from the Democrats to make her the nominee. Don’t you get it? Democratic operatives from within the Republican party were responsible for her being chosen. They want to win and they don’t care how they do it. Why can’t people wake up? I can’t wait to here Michael Savage this afternoon. Finally, maybe we can get an honest assessment of what went wrong.
I think it makes sense for her to remain Governor and stay as far away from DC as possible. She can run for re-election in 2010. By 2012 she’ll have had plenty of ‘experience’.
Of course, it would be interesting if she did show up in the Senate early next year and become one of the most visible Republicans in DC, a leading spokesperson for the party. That’s what I think the GOP needs right now.
Granted, she then would be in the belly of the beast instead of staying far outside, ready to launch an assault with Gov. Jindal on Leviathan in 2012.
Right now Gov. Palin is the most charismatic Republican on the national stage. She’s also a straightforward conservative. And if she runs in 2012 she’d have the same amount of senatorial experience as the guy who just won did when he was elected.
Who else do we have in DC to represent the GOP well?

She has a better shot for President as a Governor.
I’d rather see her run for president against Obama in the next 4 years....she doesn’t need to be learning how to water down her message in the senate.

I’m still undecided on this. I was totally against her being in the Senate but now people have convinced me it might be good.
I agree. The only reason why a senator won this time is that the other guy was a senator. Historically, governors have better chances of winning. Besides, Patomac water is particularly rancid in Capitol Hill.

Who cares what they think.
She should stay where she is as governor, far away from the communist filth the infests Washington. If she goes to the senate she will be a very junior member, with little chance to do anything but fend off cheap shots from the rats there. As governor she can continue to serve as an executive and showcase her abilities in forming policies. As a senator she will only be able to be a member of the minority party from an overlooked state. She has a better chance of becoming president in 4 years as a successful governor than as a senator from an incredibly unpopular Congress.
