Why Obama won
Yahoo/Politico ^ | Guy Fawkes Day, 5 Nov. | Smith/Martin

Barack Obama’s sweeping victory as president of the United States sends him to the White House to face what may be the worst national financial crisis since the time of Franklin Roosevelt’s election in 1932.

Obama won on his own terms, strategically and symbolically. He rolled up a series of contested states, from Colorado to Virginia, long out of Democratic reach. And his victory reflected the accuracy of his vision of a reshaped country. Racism, much discussed, turned out to be a footnote, and African-American turnout was not unusually high. Instead, Obama drew his strength from an array of racially mixed, growing areas around cities like Orlando, Washington, Indianapolis, and Columbus on his way to at least 334 electoral votes.

( ... )

he found victory with a multiracial coalition that has the makings of a formidable political base of power.

If his was the first 21st century campaign, his victory was powered by a new face of America: comprised of all ethnicities, hailing mostly from cities and suburbs, largely under 40 years old, and among all income classes.

As they emphatically proved by obliterating the presidential color line, many of these voters are not guided by traditional cultural attachment to race, religion or region.

What makes his victory so resounding, and so daunting for Republicans, was that he combined support from African-Americans, Jews, and young whites with other key groups. He also reversed President Bush’s advances with Hispanic voters.

Why Obama won

Because he had academia, the unions, Hollywood and the MSM actively campaigning for him. It's a wonder there are any conservatives left.

Zero won because his puppet master Ayers correctly calculated that it is possible to have a crypto-Communist elected in a two party political system, where principles are vague, avoided at all costs during the campaign, as each side tries to stand for everything good and against everything bad.

Through our children. Through culture. I myself am a musician/art-guy (hate the word “artist”). I have a responsibility, thru the gifts God gave me, to put the message out there. We know the old-guard media is dying. We have a chance to have our voices heard.

The only reason it was even somewhat close is because of Palin, a conservative. I’m still proud to be a conservative. Palin did not have enough time to undue what McCain did to the party of conservatives. Oh well. Maybe next time we’ll pick a conservative. Or not.

Obama successfully tied McCain to Bush. Add Bush’s incompetence to many conservatives’ lukewarmness toward McCain=Obama victory.

That's it. Plus, add the zeitgeist factor of the "thrill" of electing the "first Black president" versus an old, decrepit looking White guy, and there you have it.

This is what we have to study:

Why did McCain get fewer votes?

And we have to really look at why, avoiding rhetoric, excuses or feeling like we’ve been ripped off.

And once we can answer those questions, honestly, with solutions and not hand wringing in mind, we have to work our butts off to work the right way.

Of course, it would help a lot if we had candidates that made the job worthwhile...

God may have raised Obama like Pharoah, so He can judge him for his arrogance and show the world His power and salvation.

The primary reason Obama won is the sour state of the economy. Yes, he ran an excellent campaign, yes his leftist past was submerged in a centrist appeal, yes, he raised a lot of money. But McCain had a definite shot until the stock market went sour. Then, as usually happens, the voters punished the party in power.

You’re absolutely correct.
Obama had HUGE money, from untraceable sources.
A media blitz that was relentless, and legions of paid minions on the ground.
Now we will get to see where all that money came from.

President elect Oboma won because the Republicans chose John McCain to be their candidate in this election cycle.
That simple.

Nope they are stupid most of them..
Especially the women folk.. a hard saying but true..
They follow Oprah like she was Elvis.. like teenaged girls..
Most of them never grew up..
The ones that did grow up follow Ellen DeGeneris..
Like she was Rue Paul..

Obama won because the Republican Party offered nothing.

Nothing but moderates (RINO's), willing to reach across the aisle, act bipartisan, legislate record spending, expand the federal government, try to pass amnesty for illegals, allow Democrats to set the agenda and ruin the economy, never take a conservative stand for anything, nominate a charismatic conservative woman and then muzzle her.

Why should Americans vote for Republicans acting like Democrats when there are real Democrats on the ballot?

Bush is gone.

Cheney was totally silent during the whole campaign.

As evidenced in his concession speech, McCain is returning to the Senate having learned nothing.

All the RINO's who opined for years that we needed a McCain, abandoned him and the party and endorsed 0bama.

Several years ago Mitt Romney ran against Ted Kennedy for the Senate seat from Massachusetts. His campaign was nothing more than him promising to do more of the same things Kennedy was doing. Voters told him, "No, thanks. We've already got one of those."

A reasonable person would have learned from that. Rino's did not. Mitt did not.

And now New England has sent a clear message to the Republican party. Don't bother to run moderate Republican Rino's.

Today, there are NO Republicans in the House from any New England state.

Will the Republican Party get the message and get rid of these charlatan RINO's posing as the base of the party?

America said 'no' to bigotry. It is amazing. But don't feel that all lost. There was a victory for your kind. California said yes to bigotry, Prop 8 passed. Apparently Arizona and Florida also said yes to "bigotry".

“You know what?... most democrats(rinos) ARE WOMEN.... “

sheesh, between Obama, Biden, McCain, and Palin, only Palin was conservative, and she was the only woman.
