In this thread (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2126850/posts?page=13) some people shared their experiences about what they saw after the Election.
Carley said : "You could see shock and awe on the faces of most people yesterday. The commuter train in NJ was filled with silent people, black and white, wondering just what they hell they had done.
The trip was eerily silent when its usually filled with people chatting away."
or jnygrl : "My husband takes NJ Transit. He said his train was silent yesterday until it stopped at Newark."
Please, feel free to share what you've experienced around you. It would be useful for some FReepers or others.
Neither my wife or I can find people willing to admit they voted for Obama.
Who the heck voted him in besides Blacks, Hispanics, and College kids yet to see their first paycheck.
A lot of stupid, white, babyboomer ex-hippies.
Kids kids kids- elementary to teenage
cheering and high fiving each other Obama Obama Obama
the schools (public and Catholic) did well in turning the little jedi to the dark side
(The only noises I hear on my commuter train are the occasional little kid and Cubs fans--in season).
“just what the heck they had done”?
You’ve elected a Marxist. You’ve authorized infanticide as national policy. You’ve instituted thuggery to replace free speech.
I hearing a lot of Obama supporters talking about “working with Republicans”. It’s almost as if they are afraid to lead. They have been sniping from the sidelines so long, they are afraid to get into the game for fear they will be criticized.
“Neither my wife or I can find people willing to admit they voted for Obama.”
I don’t want to associate with anyone that voted for Obama.
I have noticed that too. Here in California, we are in the Belly of the Beast. I know who the conservatives are where I work, in orchestra, etc. And I know we are outnumbered. But NO ONE was exulting in the election yesterday at either place. NO ONE mentioned it, except those few of us who are in mourning. It was almost eerily quiet.
Rahm Emmanuel as chief of staff is not going to be looking to work with republicans. a meaner, more vindictive, partisan you will not find.
Ummmm.. this may sound pathetic but I was soo devastated by the outcome that I actually became physically ill. I got a headache, palpitations, and felt like I had a monkey tearin’ up a straw hat in my stomach( I know TMI).
I decided to spare my children from having to hear about how great the Obama victory was, and I kept them home from their government school the next day.
Basically my husband, and kids and I just sat up on Election night and held a WAKE for capitalism and our country.
Watched the sun come up and sipped a cup of coffee.
I am one of Gods children and he will take care of me and my house. If the worlds woes fall on our nation so be it. The lovers of evil will get their just rewards!
In my ofc in DC, all of those afflicted with white guilt were positively giddy with glee yesterday at my staff meeting. it was pretty insufferable.
My 9 socialist southern in laws voted for him. One even worked for the campaign.
I told my conservative husband that if he wants to go see them, he’ll have to go alone. I’m done.
I’m ashamed to have the same last name as they do. I’m so angry.
I had to fly across country yesterday for business, and with all the glum faces, you would have thought Obama lost.
I thought it was truly weird.
I heard a few of those college jackasses do their Obama cheer. They might as well of said “Heil Hitler”. In fact their whole campaign is close to an exact mirror of that other little Socialist rise to power.
At my work, a hotbed of libs, no one talked about it, but Lord knows I was seething at them, waiting for one to start bragging about it.
The faces in Tennessee are pretty glum. I haven’t heard alot of laughter. I think hope (pretty ironic given their campaign theme) is fleeting for those hoping to get out of a bad situation already in progress. Those who were hiring, are not now because of fear of higher taxes and a need to lay off later, which raises unemployment benefits.
But no matter what, it will never ever be Obama’s fault. You can bet that.
I’m also in D.C. (I can see the Capitol from my window). A few smiles on Metro the morning after, but no chatter — happy or otherwise. I expected my office to be bursting with noise about it...I saw only two people who were excited...silence, otherwise. I’ve never seen a day-after-the-election as quiet as this one.
I hope the Republicans tell them where to go.
IMO, everything bad that happens for the next 4 years is Obama's fault. He stole the election. A village in Illinois is missing an idiot. De-legitimize him the way they de-legitimized Bush.
>>>>I hearing a lot of Obama supporters talking about working with Republicans. Its almost as if they are afraid to lead.<<<<<
And it’s becoming a mantra among the Obamites that *all* of us “come together and support Barack”.
I suppose I might were he not a Marxist.
I thought to myself... Yeah, and they all voted for him!
I was Steelhead fishing 300+ miles away on election day.
On the way home yesterday, I made 3 stretch the old leg stops and didn’t hear a single comment about the election.
My wife did a lot of shopping yesterday morning preparing for a party this weekend.
She commented that she didn’t hear a single word about the election and 0$pendA being elected.
Last night, we went out for a quick dinner with one our sons in a busy family type restaurant. Noone was talking about the election even prop 8.
i park in the District building garage, i think many of them stayed home after being up late celebrating, so that might have been part of it. my husband took my daughter to the orthodontist in Falls Churcha after school yesterday. the receptionist we know to be a lib. i would have sat in the car to avoid her attempt to engage me about the election, he did not and she ended up provoking him into a diatribe. LOL! the waiting area and both orthodontists got an earful!! well she asked for it!
The majority of those faces belonged to McCain voters, thanks be to God. I'm proud to be a Tennessean, where we finally threw the corrupt Democrats out. :-)
Quite a few of the deceased - please respect the dead. And please respect the Walt Disney creations who also voted. :-)
A village in Illinois is missing a terrorist.
Yeah, I explained to the few I know that voted Obama, who are unemployed due to outsourcing jobs and had “hope” that Obama was going to make it all better, that the first guy Obama hired as his CHIEF OF STAFF is the inventor of NAFTA.
I have never seen a smiling face drop so fast.
Let’s see that birth certificate. He may already be illegitimate.
I thnk that is what Nancy Pelosi means when she talks about being bipartisan-
keeping enough Republicans in Congress to “necklace” into signing bad legislation
So the democrats have plausible deniability and the other party to blame
Like they did with the bailout plan which they could have passed with their majority- but refused to do without GOP backers- who Nancy promptly threw under the bus
I was complemented on my beautiful blue eyes twice yesterday by blacks. One in line at the supermart and another at the hairdressers.
“Oh, I just love blue eyes! I always wished I had them.”
It was creepy. It was something I’d never heard before. I can’t fathom what that was about other than knowing that blue eyes have always been code word for evil white racist.
What do you think because I’m dumbfounded by it all.
that is truly the only upside. the dems have no cover, no one else to blame now. so, go ahead ya little freaks, TRY TO GOVERN. and we will be right there handing back to them what they dished the past 8 yrs.
There are many blacks at the place I work - I never heard one mention the election. The only jerk who did was the administrator’s husband and I couldn’t set him straight. I just started the job.
“Ummmm.. this may sound pathetic but I was soo devastated by the outcome that I actually became physically ill. I got a headache, palpitations, and felt like I had a monkey tearin up a straw hat in my stomach( I know TMI).”
Me too. I have never physically reacted from an election. Until Tuesday and Weds.
America is waking up with a hangover, and rolling over to see what rough stranger now shares the bed.
Send a note with him explaining Obama spent more than $10 for each & every vote he received on Tuesday - over $650,000,000 - after he broke one of the first campaign promises he made which was to accept public funding for his election. Then ask them when the media is going to dig in to the contributions to find out how much was illegal Foreign contributions and how much violated individual limits.
These people deserve a flock of chickens donated to Africa in their name- Merry Christmas
(check out OXFAM or World Vision)
Sorry, unemployment taxes.
A friend who works at the Watergate relayed that the college kids from GW were hanging out at the mall and celebrating. But everyone over 35 seemed muted and sad.
Oh man, just wait for the coronation crowds who will be showing up in DC to jive and ululate on 20 January
And Eleanor Holmes Norton and the DC govt will be unleashed. “Pimp my Inauguration”
living through the coronation at close range here in DC is going to be hard to stomach, but once the actual governance starts, i look forward to seeing those looks of disappointment, as the stark reality starts hitting home.
AMEN!
NJ Transit causes a lot of long faces to begin with-i noticed
maybe an extra dose-also at work-where a lot of liberals are-not much excitement
let’s make sure barack carter is gone in four
he has to be the least qualified ever and is not that smart really
crafty yes
My entire staff is Republican so we all had glum looks on our faces yesterday. You could tell that some of our clients voted Obama from the zombie grins on their faces but they didn’t say a word. A conservative client and I talked about how great Sarah was and is. My daughter said the black kids were doing Obama cheers when she went to school.
People like my sheeple parents who have no clue. They only have main stream television and read Seattle newspapers. They call me a radical because I voted for McCain/Palin. They loved Clinton also. They think it’s okay to have a BJ in the oval office, and now they think it okay to have a traitor to the America as a president. Their politics makes me sad and made me a conservative.
Sales taxes are going up, same with income tax.
My income won't be able to make up the difference.
On another note, I heard of something yesterday called a “drunkover”, half drunk, half hungover. LOL!
I work in Sunnyvale (Silicon Valley) and was in San Fran for a conference yesterday. It struck me how very strange it was that I did not overhear a SINGLE conversation about the election, there were no celebrations anywhere. And this was at a convention with 9,000 people attending. Everything was eerily quiet. The only thing different is all the newspaper racks were emptied by 2 PM so I couldn’t buy a paper for the train ride down the peninsula.
Well, I found a bunch of Obamatrons in my class last night.
Got int several heated arguments. One guy told me that I was crazy cause I said BO’s a socialist.
Luckily, class started before things got too heated.
