That paper from San Fran reported today that Palin answered the door clad only in a towel! Tomorrow they will have her answering the door naked!

In my hot, steamy, fervent, furious, ecstatic dreams...

I’m officially glad McCain lost.

There were only 2 major differences in policy anyway between Obama and McCain, taxes and healthcare.

Unbelievable...you actually believe there were only 2 major differences???
I don't think you paid much attention.

Actually Glenn Beck played a voicemail yesterday from Sarah Palin that falls right into this storyline.

(and no... it wasn’t an impersonation)

Real smart. Take an everyday woman that was so successful getting other people to think like her that she made her way to the governors chair at age 44 - and they put a muzzle on her. Makes as much sense as duck hunting at the city pool.

Anonymous source items should be used only when the use of the source’s name would put them in some sort of jeopardy. Otherwise news is worthless since anybody can say anything hiding behind anonymity. Mere gossip should not be allowed this veil of protection.

I never thought McCain was a loser (thought a lot of things about him, but not that.)

I don't agree with him about everything, but Michael Savage has voiced a sentiment about that which I have long thought was true - something about having his plane shot down and being captured by the enemy forced a loser's attitude on McCain - it fundamentally altered his personality.

You saw the same thing in GHWB [Bush 41] in the 1992 election against Clinton - GHWB had been shot down [twice, I believe] in WWII, and you could almost see from the get go that he knew that his campaign would go down in flames.

And the tactical similarities in the campaigns were really striking: Just as McCain would declare that Jeremiah Wright was off-limits in 2008, so too GHWB had declared that Gennifer Flowers [et al] would be off-limits in 1992.

I just have this nagging feeling that there's something about getting shot down which turns this guys from winners into losers.

Or maybe it's even worse than that - maybe they were losers to begin with and that's why they got shot down in the first place- a true "winner" would never have allowed himself to get shot down - either he would have figured out a way to avoid the flack, or he would have forced the thing home a wing and a prayer.

Now I know that's not going to be a popular sentiment around here [particularly among anyone with close ties to the POW/MIA community], but you just got the feeling with both GHWB & McCain that they were fundamentally losers at heart, not winners.

PS: If anyone is interested, possibly the greatest movie of the 20th Century was made about this very theme.

"Nick-hole Wallace was chatting with Mutt Lower this morning."?

What was that traitor telling Matt?

Very interesting observation. I had not connected the two, HW & McCain, but have observed him when he would shut down because of “honor” and wondered if it might be something else mixed in. I can’t fault honor but I noted that both he & HW gave elections away.

Who tanked the McCain campaign? McCain tanked the McCain campaign!

Debate after the financial meltdown opening arguments:

OBAMA: "8 years of Republican failures and their deregulation of the mortgage markets have totally brought this country into financial ruin and an economic crisis."

MCCAIN: "My friends, let's talk about earmarks..."

GAME OVER!

Why would anyone stick up for the McCain staff when they ran one of the worst campaigns in history?

I wouldn't say it was the worst campaign in history. More like one of the worst candidates in history. Yes, worse than Dole. Worse even than Ford. What did McCain have to differentiate himself from the Democratic nominee? Their tax schemes were equally ridiculous, but Fauxbama's had the benefit of appealing to his target demographic: Welfare freeloaders and self-hating liberals.

Obviously we have different understandings of how to read a news article. Sorry for the bother.

Whoops! They picked a strong, smart, conservative woman and then got pi$$ed that she acted that way. Wasn’t she supposed to be a Maverick?

Palin was operating under the misconception that the McCain campaign was actually in it to win! Little did she know that republican higher ups chose McCain for the express purpose of LOSING. Why else would one hire a loser? I hope the realization has finally struck her. She was played for a dupe...used by the rarified-air, country club RINOs and is now being tagged as a useful scapegoat. Thugs run the republican party, folks. We as conservatives—like Sarah Palin—must understand and accept this fact. Only then can we begin the necessary takeover of our party from the criminally irresponsible appeasers and traitors who have controlled it for the past decade or more. “Settling” for the lesser of evils got us into the situation in the first place and must never be permitted in the future. If you are not a conservative, join the other side, for we don’t want you and will NOT contribute to your campaign of rolling over for the left.

That's one of the most ignorant and revolting things I've read on FR. You're the antithesis of a FReeper - begone, SCUM!

"Sarah actually had the gall to believe that the McCain campaign really wanted to win."

I guess when McCain's top advisor Mark McKinnon quit because he wouldn't "fight" against Obama, we should have taken that as an indication as to how this campaign was going to be run. It's obvious now, except for Sarah, McCain surrounded himself with losers.

"Nicholle Wallace is mud."

Well, it's obvious she can't be trusted to be loyal to the people paying her salary. She'd be good as Rahm Emanuel's assistant.

I refuse to be too quick in thanking ANYONE attached to this campaign. I will remain skeptical, until all of those responsible are brought to light. For all anyone knows, Randy Scheunemann may be less than forthcoming in his (rather belated) support of Governor Palin.
