Franken's deficit: 236 votes
Minneapolis Star-Tribune ^ | 11/7/08 | Patricia Lopez

Just as Secretary of State Mark Ritchie was explaining to reporters the recount process in one of the narrowest elections in Minnesota history, an aide rushed in with news: Pine County's Partridge Township had revised its vote total upward -- another 100 votes for Democratic candidate Al Franken, putting him within .011 percentage points of Republican U.S. Sen. Norm Coleman.

The reason for the change? Exhausted county officials had accidentally entered 24 for Franken instead of 124 when the county's final votes were tallied at 5:25 Wednesday morning.

"That's why we have recounts," Ritchie said, surveying the e-mail sent in from the county auditor. "Human error. People make mistakes."

The margin in the tightest Senate race in the country bounced like the stock market throughout the day, with the difference between Coleman and Franken dropping, then rising briefly to 590 votes before shooting down to a razor-thin 236 by day's end.

In a reversal of the previous day, when Coleman had declared victory and suggested that Franken should waive a recount, Coleman kept to himself on Thursday, while Franken called reporters to talk about the prospects for a continued narrowing of the count....

Oh sure they did. Now if they can just discover two more similar "mistakes" Franken is in.

exactly. Not to say Kennedy’s awful weakness against Cuba and the USSR. LBJ said “Time for change, yes we can” and they did it.

I simply cannot believe folks take Al Franken seriously.

They are either mad as in crazy or mad as in angry. Pitifully angry.

This is why the left dislikes electronic voting. With electronic tallies, every time you look in the register, the same number is there. With paper, it’s oddley different every time you count.

Oh, look, I found an EEPROM chip on the floor in the bathroom, and it has 1600 votes for (D) on it!

Minnesotans must be complete morons for this to be even close. Where was that idiot Jesse Ventura from again?

Excuse me, but only half of Minnesotans must be complete morons-- and they seem to be mostly concentrated in the population centers. Probably not much different than in your state.

Funny how recounts ALWAYS seem to find votes for democrats - never for republicans...

I bet he wins...

He will be the icing on the cake.

Cant wait to hear him to so eloquently represent his party in the famed halls of congress.

In every case like this, the newly discovered votes always favor the Democrat, yet no one ever questions this obvious improbability. America seems content with voter fraud and rigged elections. We are doomed.

"...revised its vote count..."

from The Obama Vote Fraud Playbook...
Never say vote fraud. Say "revised its vote total upward".
And never forget no matter how buzzed you are...this term is
always applied for our guy, the Democratic candidate.

yes, that's a parody.
But parodies only work because there's a truth behind them.

Right...I agree.
This is really sad that this race is this close. Coleman should have won by a landslide.

Hey that is great to hear! Glad that there are a few decent ones left who do the right thing, unfortunate that we don’t often see that on the national stage.

Most folks in the rural areas are fairly sane and decent.

Get in the Twin Cities and you get plenty of liberal nuttiness.
My brother left his native Oklahoma thinking he was a Democrat.
After two years at grad school at U. Minn (the ag-school section
in St. Paul)...he realized he was a fairly conservative Republican.
Because he'd see what REAL Democrats are like.

That’s not the only deficit that Franken has. He is mentally unbalanced which will make him a perfect fit in the organization of liberal pansies that we’ve elected to ruin our nation.
