Silly people, do none of them remember the scene from Red Dawn, “go to the sporting goods stores and get from the files.... obtain form 4473 - this will contain descriptions of weapons and lists of private ownership”?

My 11 year old daughter shoots the same gun.

My husband bought an AR15 yesterday, gun shops can’t keep them in stock they say.

What chance does a renewed AWB have of being passed?

In the upcoming Congress? About as likely as death and taxes.

"Don’t forget, a muzzle loader is a great way to deliver 300 grains."

A lot of people underestimate the amount of brutal short range kinetic power a muzzle loader has. Hard lead balls or home poured buffalo bullets have no problem knocking holes through engine blocks.

In a cannon maybe. 70 to 100 max for a .50 cal muzzle loading rifle."

I believe the gentleman was referring to the bullet weight - and you are also incorrect about propellant charges for the .50: I routinely use 120 grains of FFG in my Hawken.

are you kidding? store bought balls and bullets start at 284 grains.

What chance does a renewed AWB have of being passed?

Anywhere from 99 to 100 percent.

Isn't oenerous tax levied on ammunition akin to a poll tax? The 2nd Amendment is not something which only a few can afford.

A poll tax, ammo tax, speech tax, etc., would all be assaults on enumerated rights, but with the new 'living constitution' I doubt there would be any legislative or judicial sympathy to the restrictions imposed by massive firearms and ammunition taxes. Obama could impose restrictive taxes on guns and ammunition with an executive order, and I doubt anyone would call him on it.

Of course it is. Ditto the $200 NFA tax.

Anyone who owns guns and voted for Obama needs their head examined.

Leftists are great friends of the gun owner, right up until they get into power. They have a perfectly consistent history.

Obama win triggers run on guns in many stores

Anybody who couldn't see that coming, needs their head examined.

Cue up the Who, "Won't Get Fooled Again."

"The first thing B.O. is going to do is use executive orders to ban all imported firearms related products ."

LMAO! As if that will stop imported firearms and related products. It only stops the legal ones. The illegal ones, which is what most of the gangs in the 'hoods' use, will be as plentiful as ever.

Went to the gunshow yesterday. I was in line at 8:30. By 9 am, when the doors opened, there were at least 200 people in line. I looked quickly for someone with AR-15 receivers for sale and bought two. By 9:15, all 14 he had brought to the gun show were sold. Any military style rifle was selling well. By 12, the ammo guy was practically sold out.

Yes, I know that some say not to post because they don’t want to give Zerobama’s thugs any help, but if it gets as bad as we expect, it won’t matter.

Well, 70 grains of fff or ppp (both fine grinds meant for pistols) is kinda on the light side. Myself I find 95 grains works just fine for what I shoot (Hornady 280 grain 45cal boatails/w sabbots in my 50 cal carbine; although I've used up to 120 grains without serious blow back on the hammer.

I did have a nipple blow out on me one time, bu the cause of that was from not taking out the nipple and cleaning the threads properly and greasing them up to prevent corrosion. Lesson learned.

Modern inline muzzle loaders are safer and could handle even higher loads because that design weakness inherent in replica's doesn't exist.

I like the idea, but the federales would likely then nationalize an ammo manufacturer or two.

This is what happens when you nominate a Republican to the top of the ticket who is a virtual clone of a VERY unpopular President - minus even the pretense of being pro-gun.

We wouldn’t be in this mess if Republicans had stuck to a limited government platform even after 9/11, and not handed Democrats an executive branch with way too much power.

Think about that as Obama starts using the Patriot Act to go after conservatives and constitutionalists who post in threads like this one.

Don’t forget too that once back in power, establishment Republicans (unlike Democrats), rarely (never?) permit limited government conservatives to roll back socialism previously enacted by Democrats. So we can safely assume that much of the gun control passed in the next two years will stay on the books for good.

I think it should be a Felony for any Obama Supporter to purchase a firearm.

I would also like the Death Penalty applied to those found guilty of the crime.

The now departed CEO of Cooper Firearms was in my opinion supporting Obama as a business decision. Think it through. Cooper mfrs high end bolt hunting rifles. He saw the writing on the wall especially after another high end bolt rifle mfr, Dakota Arms, bit the dust. Both companies compete for the Sportsman’s dollars and we have seen major manufacturers building and selling high cap semi autos for the hunter thereby cutting into Cooper’s market share. Removing semi autos from the market through onerous restrictions, fees and taxes would then increase Cooper’s market share. Business first. Country second.
