For 99.9% of us, the AR-15 will work fine. I’m too old for crawling around in the dirt and worrying about jam ups. Besides, I have an M1 Garand that will work just fine.

Wal Mart is discontinuing the Maverick 88 series pump of Mossberg shotguns. I found three at my local superstore at $177 each in 20 gauge, three inch or 2&3/4 shells (acquire #3 buckshot in 2&3/4 shells). Though the barrel is 26inches long, it is easy to cut the barrel down to 19inches and the action on that model is very good for the price. Basic home defense shotgun at affordable price. Mossberg barrels are interchangeable so if you buy the 12gauge, acquire a separate short barrel and keep the long barrel for choke options and hunting.

If you live in South Florida, I'll be selling a couple of my finest to raise money for something else. Got a Browning Hi-Power 9mm and an OLYMPIA ARMS AR15 Pistol (5.56mm) both for sale. Looking for ftf sales, only right now. If I have to ship via an FFL then you pay the shipping and fees. Freepmail me.

The OLY is no longer available new. This one has never been fired and it is brand new but the box fell apart, so it's sans that.

S&W model 6904 if you can find one. -small frame 12 in the mag + 1 in the chamber is a lot of rounds in a relatively small package. I used to have one but I SOLD ALL MY GUNS!!!

Try GunsAmerica.com. I've used them and have had no problems.

And the SKS is the way to go for rifles. Cheap, reliable, and no magazines to get lost or damaged.

I respectfully disagree. 7.62x39 ammo has been drying up since Bush #41 stopped cheap imports along with some very high end firearms as an intro to his version of the NWO. That situation is only going to worsen. Eventually (read soon) the only thing available in that caliber will be berdan primed and corrosive.

Best to stick to US/NATO ammunition which is 5.56mm (.223) and 7.62x51mm (.308). Also 9mm and probably 45ACP will always be pretty much available, albeit costly unless you buy now in bulk.

Sacrifice the revolver and the shotgun for a distance rifle with optic.

Instead of the revolver and shottie, I'd go with a Winchester M94 carbine (lever action) 30-30 and a bolt action 308 with a good 3x9 variable scope. Preferably with a BDC (bullet drop compensator) option. The venerable thutty thutty is great for all deer sized game and equally good for self defense. Especially in areas where handguns may already be restricted. It is totally non threatening in appearance. Look, it's the gun all our favorite cowboys used to win the west on the silver screen. Of course it's going to look innocuous to everybody but chuckie schumer.

You’ll get plenty of advice on the weapons themselves, but do yourself a favor and check prices and availability of ammunition. A good revolver like the S&W 686 is a good option because you can fire .357, .38 or .38 +P through it. Having something you can afford to practice with is a good thing.

I say this having spent close to $150 on .45, .38 +P, .357 and 12 ga ammunition this weekend.

I would most certainly fight and die for this country.

Have you considered joining the Army or Marines and getting some really good training and actually fighting for your country>

Especially considering his agenda.

Glock 33? Anyone have an opinion on this one?

.357 sig is a relatively obscure caliber. Why buy a common car with rare tires?

Why so much emphasis on the .223 rather than the 5.56/308? Does it have to do with the availability of ammo?

I’m not saying they’re not going to grab guns, but if he can go after ammo right now through EO or regulation, then why would he churn up a big second amendment fight? Once the ammo’s restricted, it will be much easier to go after the guns. Here’s the angle BO will use, I have no doubt...and this will be his argument: there is no literal right to ammo, only arms. No matter that it violates not only the SA itself, but the spirit as well. Anyone who can interpret the SA as meaning a “well regulated militia” as the National Guard can certainly rationalize that ammo isn’t covered under the SA.
